I am officially a member.

Hello friends.  I am home from the hospital today and officially a member.  They were able to do the surgery laparoscopically, however, it took them 7.5 hours - 2 of those hours spent lysing old adhesions.  A very tenacious and dedicated surgical team.  To say I am sore is an understatement.

It turned out the "tumor" on my adrenal gland was actually a section of bowel that was photobombing my CT scans.  The adrenal gland did not have to be removed.

I see the Urologist on December 17th for follow up and pathology report.  He said blood draws in the hospital were very good.  Kidney function value went from 1.1 to 1.2 which he was happy with and hematocrit stays at 34-35.  It looks as though the left kidney was able to kick right in and take over.

More later my new best friends!  Thank you again for taking this journey with me.

    Debbie,

How about some pizza and beer. That should help with the gas.

Glad to hear it was only a "photobomb" and not a tumor on Adrenal gland.

    7.5 hours!

That's a long procedure but I'm glad they took care of other problems for you.  Those adhesions can be tricky business... I'm only 7 weeks out but I was afraid of everything I did because I didn't want to develop any.  Here's to a speedy recovery!
