Update
Finally got my results from the test to see the chances of my tumor recurring. I was in the low risk so thank heavens no chem or radiation! I can continue with my reconstruction. I have to take the drug Femara for 5 years. generic name is letrozole. Are there any precautions with that drug? It will be a Merry Christmas for our family!!

Congratulations on your
Congratulations on your results. Did you have the oncotyping done? I'm just going through that right now and will have my results on Thursday, 12/11. If it comes back no chemo needed, I will have 30 rounds of radiation and five years of Tamoxifen, then they will switch me to a different hormone therapy med for another five years. I just joined this forum as I was diagnosed in October with IDC, DCIS, Stage 2A, Grade 3+, ER+, PR+, HER2-, ki67 "unfoavorable."

Letrozole
Like any medication there are side effects. Hair loss; hot flashes; tiredness; joint/muscle pain; tiredness or insomnia; diarrhea are all things they told me to watch out for when they started me on Letrazole. I've been taking it for a year and a half. I usually have 2 hot flashes a day - one in the early morning (about 6 am) and then one at night - 7:30 or 8:00 I have had some pain/joint/muscle soreness and sometimes pain. Even on the worse day Aleve works. After discussing alternatives with my doctor we both decided it was best for me to stay on the letrazole. Now and then I will feel extra tired - but I work about 50 hrs a week so that could be just due to life!
Merry Christmas to you & your family!
