Clinical trial for non-surgical treatment of recurrent anal cancer or rectal cancer.
I saw this tonight on the Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center website - a clinical trial for treatment of recurrent anal or rectal cancer where the person cannot have a resection performed or who does not want one:
"A Phase I Study of High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy plus Chemotherapy in Patients with Recurrent Rectal or Anal Cancer" - http://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/trial/14-104

Fingers are crossed!
Fingers crossed that this or another therapy will work out. Surgery and healing difficulties have such risks, but then so do chemotherapy and radiation. At least it will be great to have another hopeful option in the pocket for those of us who have a recurrence. Anal cancer is not an easy row to hoe!
