Risks while waiting

first of all, thank you to all who responded to my previous threads.  I don't know how I would be handling this without this community.  to recap, I have a 4.5cm mass on my right kidney and have an appt to have the chest CT on Tuesday...praying it hasn't spread....praying very very hard!  Anyway, my meeting with the surge on is a week later.  Are there any activities that u should a solid while in this condition?  My kids love playing football in the yard, but I was assume a good shot to that kidney may cause problems.  How about running, listing weights, or other exercise?  I am 41 and otherwise healthy.  I do want to remain active, but I don't want to make things worse or take unnecessary risks.

    Live a normal life.

    Andy,

While waiting for your surgery live a normal life and stay away from strenous actity. No bungee jumping or sky diving until a year after surgery. You do not want to do anything that would injure your kidney until the beast is removed. Stay away from kidney pie.

    My surgeon recommended that I

My surgeon recommended that I walk for an hour every day prior to surgery. Since I was using the treadmill already (it was winter), I just continued doing that twice a day. I think being active and in good physical condition prior to surgery is very important so don't avoid that. I think football may be pushing it because you don't want an injury but jogging or brisk walking is fine. If unsure of using weights, ask your doctor.

    Normal routine

I was told not to worry about anything, however I did tell them I'm not really into rough stuff anyway.  I kept running and actually ran my first 5k about 10 days before the surgery.  I would probably stay away from anything too rough for a while just to be safe.  I can't see how a shot to the kidney would help at any time, cancer or no cancer.

Same here.  I lived my normal

Same here.  I lived my normal life.  I work out pretty routinely including cardio and weight training.  I did not alter my routine at all.  In fact, I picked it up a bit just to prove to myself that there was nothing wrong with me.  LOL.
