Ended up in hospital. ..Uugh.
It came on so fast ! I was settling down for the night and started throwing up like a champion. A long with the other end going strong to. I was so weak after 2 hours my daughter can to take me to hospital. They gave me a shower got a ER bed stat. The have done blood , urine, culture, cat scan, X rays , and say my blood work came out all wacky doodle so they admitted me. I am getting antibiotics and my second saline bag.
And now my new nurse is here :^)
I am not throw in up any more just very week and thirsty.

Sorry you are in the hospital but sounds like it's the best place for now. I hope you get to feeling better and come home soon.
Hugs,
Jim
Sepsis. They are concerned about sepsis. So I guess it's a waiting and testing time. I really love this hospital they are very smart and compationate.
Good to hear from you jim, nice to see your smile too.
Hope things are doing good for you. And that you had a nice thanks giving.
I had to go bold with my text cuz my reading glasses are at home ... lol.

So sorry GG, but I agree with Jim, the hospital is probably the best place and good that you are confident with your care. Maybe this all has to do with your arm pain and they can finally figure everything out. Keep us informed and know we are thinking of you.

Oh dear GG
I am so sorry to hear that you are in the hospital but it sounds like the best place for you to be at this time.
I hope your care team can quickly diagnose the source of infection so the right meds can be given.
I am praying for you and will write more in a couple of days. Right now I am away from home and have only tiny moments to myself. (Family!)
Take care. . .
Love,
Rocquie

Well im home. Everything was fine until I questioned my attending dr. The nurse turned into a unpleasant person as well. What it boiled down to was I was scared and needed more explanation then what I was getting. Ultimately A Oncologist from my cancer center showed up at my doorstep at the right time .After I had cried enough and had frustrated myself so bad and my daughter didn't know what to do . I just pretty much gave up . So the night came and went and yesterday and the Hospital dark showed back up. He told me that my white count went down a little bit and that I had a choice whether to stay or go.I had no time to think about it and I just said I'll go ahead and go thinking that was the right choice. To my dismay it started to dawn on me after I left they never gave me an explanation of what made me sick they never gave me an explanation of why they really wanted to keep me, except saying that I may have been sepsis. Well I have no clue. All I know is I'm very weak and I'm tired and I'll be calling my primary care physician and my oncologist first thing tomorrow morning.he did send me home with 875 milligrams augmentin but I can guarantee you it won't work on whatever it's supposed to work antibiotics don't work on me very well anymore. So needless to say I'm not quite sure what that whole thing was but I'm not throwing up and I'm Ok with that. I'll be getting some answers soon.

GG:
I am glad to hear that you are home and feeling somewhat better. But to send you home like that is outrageous. Attending M.D. and nurse nasty?? Just terrible. I would not hesitate, if you felt like it, to call the primary care doc. or the oncologist tonight. Track them down.
I hope things are better tomorrow, GG. Let us know.
Hope you sleep well tonight.

GG, I hope you are feeling better. And I hope you are indeed calling your oncologist today.
I was hospitalized for sepsis during my R-CHOP. I was also given a choice of going home one day or waiting until the next. My husband was with me and he asked for a few minutes to decide. Once we were left alone, we talked about it and decided to stay in the hospital another day. Like you, I was very weak. I am sure, however, I would have been fine at home.
I was also treated with Augmentin and it worked for me. You probably know that it is a combination medicine which can overcome antibiotic resistance.
I am so sorry that you are having these problems. Try to take it easy and rest in order for your body to heal and recover. Keep your nutrition up as much as possible. (Boost and Ensure, although not delicious, were life-savers for me).
Stay warm and dream of those RV and fishing trips ahead. . .
Prayers, Hugs, and Love,
Rocquie

Wow Thankyou everyone.
Rocquie That's almost identical to my situation but I didn't stay.
I may get scheduled for a port next Monday and treatment on next Tuesday. Had a long conversation with my oncologists nurse or case manager my oncologist said yes. So I may only have 3 treatments ahed but my arms hurt so bad and my veins keep rolling and drying up. I'm scared but the fiasco at hospital with trying to get blood and the pain in my arms are over riding my fear. So .....yes please , I need a port.
No I didn't know the combination thing. That is also helpful.
I am getting closer and closer to my RV. Yep I'm keeping my dreams alive.
My best friend I live with is getting her home on market and we are transitioning into a much simpler life. Downsizing . Her husband thinks we're both nuts but we are getting threw all this crazy crisis after crisis together so at the end we can sip ice tea and watch the deer frolic in the distance. It can be possible. Never give up hope.

Hi GG,
I'm so sorry to hear you ended up in the hospital and your stay there wasn't that pleasent. Asking questions it''s they best thing to do as doctors are humans too and they too make mistakes so I hope your doctor will give you clear and satisfying answers and will encourage you to get a port. I did, I had one put in the first day of my chemo. Unfortunately it was put in by a student and it didn't heal properly , I even got an infection ( had to be in the same chemo chair right the day before my chemo having an IV with antibiotics and ended up having a big reaction! Was that "fun" or what? ) but now it's fine and I'm glad I did it as it makes the treatment go so much faster and I have never experienced any pain except in the area where they insert the needle. I guess it doesn't have enough time to heal and the area is so small so many times the needle enters the same spot. The whole process takes about 3 hours, including the wait for the steroids given to me to take effect wich is about 30 minutes and then the ABVD and flushing the lines in between.
I know it's not easy and I myself had few episodes of depression and even ager for the first time. Few mornings ago I was so frustrated to see so much hair falling on my shoulders and all around me so I took a pair of scissors and cut a big chunk of my hair but I lokked too funny so yesterday right before going fo my chemo #11 I went to see my hairdresser and had a laugh, I told him that I must be the first client to have a hair cut done before going for a chemo treatment. I have to laugh so i can stop crying. Now I almost look like my son who is already 6 months old and tell my husband that he got himself two little boys in the house, lol! ))
So please, when you feel down and sad, unwell and nothing seems to make you happy, maybe find something that will make you laugh, like a good comedy or good memories. I don't know how many more treatments you have left and unfortunately things only get worse in time but if you start counting down you can see the end is near and then you can move on with your life and have something that you will forever cherish : LiFE!
Be well, stay strong, laugh often and keep us posted!
Your cancer friend Natasha

Im sorry ur having a particularly rough time of late
I was very afraid of a port/picc line, but it turned out to be the least irritating thing about my treatment. I forgot about it mostof the time.
Do try to find ways to cheer urself up but also giv urself permission to feel and act rotten :-D lolz I know u always regret ur outbursts but u really shouldn't feel horrible about it. This is a big deal! CANCER is a big deal! We arent given time to greive over our diagnosis. We r usually so distracted with trying to get through treatment that ppl dont understand we arent taking the time to heal emotionally while this is going on......
I really hope u feel better soon GG.
