It's Not Lymphoma
Hello All: Thank you for welcoming me on this board. Have bad news tonight that my brother doesn't have lymphoma it's just all in the nodes from a source they are unknown to at this moment. There are spots on his lung, liver, possible pancreas, along with several nodes and possible bone. They are doing genetic testing to see what type of cancer it is. It is not curable, not operable and only chemo can prolong it. We are devastated. They do know it started someplace in the abdominal cavity. It is not a common cancer but one that is rarer. I'm not sure what the name is as my SIL wasn't sure either. Thank you for your concern for my brother.

I know I haven't written to you but I have been keeping up with your story. I am so sorry. I know this is a very sad, heart wrenching time for all of you. My prayers will be that you can deal with this and that you will have some quality and joyous time with your brother. Of course, we never give up and sometimes unexplainable things happen. Prepare yourselves but don't give up.
Thinking and praying for you and your family,
Becky

Odd
Kim,
I am curious: If the doctors do not know what your brother's disease is, how do they know that it is incurable ?
Hoping for improving news for you guys,

There are too many spots in different locations being the lung, possible node near the heart, someplace in the stomach cavity, pancreas, liver, possible bone, nodes in the neck, and just too many places to deal with. He has had treatment this past Tuesday and he is doing terrible. Can't eat or drink and has been taken into hospital for dehydration. I'm so sad right now. Thank you all for your continued support.

Kim,
It is terrible hearing that he is in such rough shape. I am certain that everyone here is pulling for you, your brother, and your father.
What are they treating him with ? Do you know the drug names or abbreviations ?

I will keep praying for ur brother.......... It aint over till the fat lady sings. :-D
I was telling my husband the other day that the fact that ur brother is doing badly after first treatment is not entirely unexpected. When there is a lot of cancer the first few treatments are the worst because of the amount of cancer cells being broken down and, the more there is the worse the reaction. I am hoping for the best and that he beats the odds for u and ur family's sake.
Do u hav any more information about his diagnosis? New drugs are coming out all the time and there r some really informed ppl on this site who can maybe be of help/point u in the right direction. Who knows?
We are here for u if u need to talk or share
xoxo
