cat scan with barium

since i had 3 pet scans I can only have cats scans now what im wondering is they want me to drink the barium would this only show gi trac I thoufght it was strange was was not getting dye injected

You are correct. Barium is for gi tract. They will inject iodine at the time of the scan for contast on other organs.

tell told me i would have to drink the barium are you saying when i get there they will also give me the dye so i will have both? that would make sense. I will miss the pet scans i thiunk they do a better job

Scan
They will give you a little more of that to drink and then once you are set up they will inject the dye. Some people can feel it going in and some can't. CT scans are pretty accurate. Good luck.

PET scan is basically a CT scan with radioactive sugar to show cancer activity. CT's are usually for routine check-ups during NED periods and PET scans are usually used when cancer activity is suspected.
Doctors however use these at their discretion.
