Me an' NED at 6

I got the best Thanksgiving present I could hope for with a NED PET result last week. It was almost exactly 6 years ago that the ENT used the C-word for the first time, and it's been a long hard battle for me and my wife ever since. Truly, I would not be alive if it wasn't for her, some amazing doctors and nurses, and so much support from family and friends--including many of you here.
I am still not totally out of the woods from my jaw resection in May, with some lingering infection and some bone necrosis--but I am well enough to eat a lot of different foods and exercise when I want to.
Every year about this time I go back and read the blog I started in January of 2009. Some of the postings scare me--and I know how they turned out! Bottom line--for those of you still in the midst of the battle, keep fighting--it's a winnable battle with lots of good things left in life once you've made it through. Life will never be "normal" again, but the "new normal" sure beats the alternative!
