It's been a while
Hi Everyone,
It's been some time since I signed in--probably a couple of years. Lately I've been feeling like I abandoned people when I stopped coming to the forum. So I'm back.
Long story short: Dx stage 2b colon cancer in Aug. 2006; surgery/chemo etc. Followup showed NED but then in July 2007 was dx'd with uterine cancer. That one only required surgery because we got it super early. Have been NED since and feeling very fortunate.
After cancer a series of unfortunate events occurred and I was not really able to be of much support on this forum for the last 5 years. But I'm better now.
Just wanted to send out positive thoughts, healing thoughts and prayers for everyone afflicted by cancer; this includes families, caretakers and medical teams whose nurturing makes all the difference in the world. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I'm thankful for all the support and love I received on this forum and would like to pass it on. Peace.

First sorry for your unfortunate events and am glad they are past you now.
And second welcome back, it's always wonderful to see someone surviving the cancer and gives hope to many others.
Here's to see more of you.

Thanks so much for the welcome back, Winter. Even after surviving what was the single biggest personal osbtacle in my life, I still forgot to be grateful in the face of other things. I guess everything seems so huge when it's happening, but now that I have regrouped, I still find myself most grateful for the chance to continue life. I hope everyone survives and lives to see much, much more of what life throws at us.
I just read your story, and I am awed and amazed at the person you are! You have not curled up in a ball and given up in the face of those recurrences and newly-spotted problems. Tremendous! Thank you for your story. Reminders to be grateful for everything, big and little, and not to let other things in life beat you down.

Sometimes it's good to lurk and learn. LOL! Looking forward to you popping up!

Good to be back! Thanks for the welcome back. I feel I am coming home. Is that weird? This was the only absolutely safe place emotionally during the whole cancer journey and for a long time afterwards. No walking on eggshells here, just comfort, advice and support. Don't know why I've stayed away so long. You doing ok?

It's good to see you back, good to hear success stories. Thanks.
I remember aiming for this state while in treatment. I wanted so badly to get to 5 years NED and here it is now 8 years! My oncologist has cut me loose. When he did I immediately felt insecure. He said it's common to feel that way. I'm not insecure any more, just more watchful. I hope everyone here can get to that place.

Sorry and Wonderful
Sorry for your difficult time during those years and sorry that we weren't able to help you get through them. I'm always on this board for support and I'm truly grateful for all here because they have helped me with things not related to cancer. I'm so glad that you are still NED. Thanks for posting as you were posting while I'd just joined the board. Great news and thanks for the update.
