Sad, altough i'm only here since september, having read almost all posts on this forum makes me feel like i know a lot of you here. GS Ron was respected by every members of this board and will be miss. May he rest in peace.
I don't post alot but the times that I have Ron was always there with a word of advice or encouragement. I know that I will miss him big time along with many others on this forum.
RIP in peace my friend, see you on the other side.

I had such a hard time believing this yesterday. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that because I read this news online, I just didn't trust it. So I sent Ron a text message and an email yesterday inquiring about him. There's been no answer. I was hoping I'd reach a relative at least that could let me know more about what had happened. Nothing so far.
The last times we talked, I wasn't aware that he was ill enough to be hospitalized. He never mentioned it. I wish I'd been in touch more. I hadn't talked to him much since his trip overseas.
I'm still in shock. So very sad about this news.
We will miss you Ron.
Peace to you and your family.
Todd
Todd, I think Ron died at home and it must have been sudden, maybe his heart or liver.
when I read of his passing, I too thought it must be another Ron. He had posted about his cousin at the end of October and was having scans for the spinal mets this month.
We are left to speculate; he lived between your home and mine and he was someone I wanted to meet personally. It makes sense that he didn't tell you how bad the cancer was because he didn't know the extent and that's the reason for the tests he never got. That's why I think it was heart issues.
i will always remember my first times at this forum and the sense that he was a teddy bear.

Numb at this sad news.Numb at this sad news. Ron was a tremendous LIFT to anyone who landed here, and he will be sorely missed. The constant stream of support he provided, laced with the great humor he maintained throughout, made it easy (for me) to forget the uphill battle he was personally fighting.
I am going to embrace the image suggested by Mrs B of Ron joining Mr. B and Tex for laughs and cocktails. Ron would like that. . .

I came in here thinking about
I came in here thinking about Ron and TW. NEVER expecting to see this awful news! What on earth happened? I did not know he was anywhere near that ill. I mean, i knew he had mets but last i saw his post two weeks ago or less, we were talking back and forth about his cousin who lost her battle with Ovarian cancer. I feel so awful and will really miss Ron. I am very sad. I just can't figure out what went wrong. Gonna miss your upbeat and encouraging posts, Ron. Sad night!

This really saddens me. I did not know GS, just like I did not know TW personally. But, it is humbling to see such strong people fall to the disease...
God Speed.
I had exchanged pm's with Ron not to long ago. We grew up in the same neighborhod in Northwest Detroit back in the 1950's, although he was 7 or 8 years younger than me.
So sorry to hear about the loss of a real fighter.

It is so hard to believe that GS Ron is gone. he was always one that could make you laugh and feel strong, not many have that capability!

At a loss of words.....
As I am reading all of these lovely posts about a lovely man I am shedding more than a tear or two. Along with so many others loved Ron's humour with all those fabulously funny innuendos, his thoughtfulness, kindness and his ability to make us all smile and in my case laugh out loud!!!! I was so upset to hear about his passing and Ron you will be sincerely missed by many. What will the Isle of Man do without you?? Rest in peace pal......
