Wilms tumor
Hello everyone I want to share my story, even though it just begun. I am 18 years young, I was healphy and fine until this autumn. I had very big pain in my back and after few days I got high fever and sudden lost of body mass. Soon after that I went to family doctor he said it probably just muscle inflammation. I drunk antibiotics and thing got better. But one month ago same happened again and after echoscopy doctor told it is probably tumor in left kidney, and something in liver too.
I was very frightened at first but I am young and I can survive it easy I thought. So just a week ago I had my belly MRI which showed insanely big tumor and trump near hard, that means surgery is very dangerous. It also showed liver tumors. Next day I did lungs CT and they found some in my lungs too. Next day they told me that it is not RCC like I thought, but Wilms tumor, children cancer and very rare in adults.
After that they did biopsy and said it should react to chemoteraphy very good so now tomorrow I am starting chemoteraphy and hoping for best. I would like to get some information, maybe someone child had it or even adult survivors. Thing I know: I will play basketball again! And sorry for my bad english I live in eastern Europe, Lithuania, and wrote this whole story with smartphone.

Wilms Tumour!
Well thank goodness for smartphone eh! I am so sorry to hear about your health. I only have experience with kidney cancer, but there are a couple of members who have experience with Wilms, so I hope they see your post.
This is a tough thing for you to face at such a young age, but stay strong and determined! have you been able to play some basketball up until now? I assume that it's your passion!
I will keep you at the forefront of my thoughts and prayers, all the best tomorrow. Try and stay in touch via that smartphone of yours, let us know how you get on:)
I am in Europe too, France,

I search over net but this is rarely happens to people over 5 years age and nmeven more rare for grown ups. I would likr someone who maybe had this experience to share that should I expect. It is easy to find RCC stories, but I would like to hear from same fellows like me or someone who might had it in childhood and how they beat it etc.

Hi, I hope the chemo went well today! With regards to finding someone who has dealt with Wilms. If you log in and connect to Childhood Cancer a little way down you will see 34 yr Wilms survivor. Most of the posts are old but there are three very recent ones. Why not try making contact with them, they may be able to offer some advice.
All the best:)

Yes you right, I should have checked children cancer at the beggining. Thank you! There are so many wilms tumor survivors and they all much older than me (I have so much more confidence now).
Thanks everyone for cheers and I wish all of you to stay strong and never surrender!

Hi Lukas
Welcome. Sorry to hear about your health problems. I"m afraid I don't know much about Wilms tumors except like you said that it usually strikes children and young adults.
I wish you the best with your chemo. Please keep us posted.
I hope someone who knows more about it will post. There are people here with Wilms. I've seen posts before.
Best wishes to you.
Todd

Hi Lukas. Fox meant to do a search here in the kidney cancer group. At the top there's a search box where you can search for previous posts. Go to the top of the kidney cancer discussion board and you'll see a box "Search by Keyword". Type in Wilms wilms (I'm not sure if the search is sensitive about capitalization) and then do a search and you should find previous discussions about Wilms. Also, you might find people there that have had it and you are able to message them through the CSN messaging by clicking on their name. After you click their name you can read their bio and also you can message them as long as you are logged into CSN.
Best wishes,
Todd
