PET results
Had another PET yesterday at Mayo, results were good!!!!! Last PET was only 7 weeks ago but always that concern. Next one not for 3 months. Seems like I get an awful lot of PET scans. Maybe because I have had two recurrances. As I was going in the bldg I noticed that I had pulled my gtube out. If it was going to happen, what better place. The ENT stiched it back in and sent me for X-ray to make sure it was in place. It has been sore since, hopefully temporary. I do have to have another surgery. Not urgent but a must. For best opportunity they want hyperbarics before and after.
My husband left the hospital yesterday, after nine days and went to the acute rehab center. Following his stroke, he has good days and not so good. As a rule, he knows who I am. My speech difficulties don't help the situation. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

NED...GOOD....NED....GREAT......So HAPPY
That is such great news on the PET results, celabrate that. Sorry you pulled out the GI tube but they got it in fast.
Your husband is doing better and will continue to do so. Let me tell you a true story and I hope it helps. When I was 31 there was a man in the hospital room with me. He was around late forties and fell of his bicycle riding home from work and hit his head just wrong. Prononced dead in the OR and revived and they had to do some brain surgery. I was told by his family and the nurces, he would never speek or know much or what was going on, he just lies there.
Wow, were they ever wrong. He did just lay there and did not speek but he knew every thing that was going on around him. He did hear just fine. So one day, and I don't know why, I asked him to raise one finger and he did. Then I said can you rase two, and he did. I told him one is for yes and two is for no. Then I asked If I could turn the TV he was listening to and he held up two fingers. I said ok and waited 'till he went to sleep and changed it. Now no one knows he can hear. His wife came in and was upset that his catheter came out and was leaking. I called the nurse for her and she told me it was ok because he did not really know anything. So I told her he did and we have been communicating for days. She could not beleave it. I told her how I did it and I asked him if his wife was here? He held up one finger and she cryed like a baby in joy. A few days later he said Hi Bill, and I cryed like a baby too. He was released and went to rehab and could talk again. So keep the fath, sometimes great things do happen.

Hi Candi
That is correct because of having C twice they will be looking at you a little more than normal. Even now I am 12 years passed my first treatment and 8 years passed my second treatment I still have to see my ENT every 3 months for her to scope down my nasal area to make sure I am still clean. I am happy for you to still have a NED report, and I am keeping both you and your husband in all my prayers.

Funny, but your post reminded me how much I hate the nasal scope. After all the ways I've been poked, prodded and otherwise violated since my diagnosis in 2009, I still go totally 'white knuckle' when the ENT has to scope me--as he did two weeks ago. I have a large tolerance for pain and discomfort, except for that--so I feel like such a wimp when that makes my blood pressure spike at just the thought of it.

Appreciate the encouraging story Bill and all the well wishes. P, I am amazed at the number of PETs I have had and that BCBS keeps saying yes. Mike, I have more PETs than scopes, but I also dread the scope, so much so that my ENT uses the children's one on me.
Have put my surgery on hold for my husbands care. It has been a week in acute rehab now, some improvements. They said stroke was severe but there is potential. Can take 3 to 6 months to see and could see changes up to two years. I feel he is getting good care. Headed there now. Continuing prayers.
