MOVEMBER
NOVEMBER IS MENS HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH.
"Mo Bros take action by changing their appearance by growing a moustache for the 30 days of Movember, to spark conversation and raise funds. Mo Sistas commit to supporting the men in their lives while helping to promote men’s health."
Hopeful and Optimistic is growing one. How about you?

Long ugly mustages
Well, probably I will use the occasion as an excuse to let my beard grow.
I have seen guys with long mustaches commenting they have let it grown to commemorate Movember but did not say which year’s one. Probably they forgot to shave for a decade.
Let’s commemorate the occasion again and again and again with a ugly one.

I started one a few days ago....this morning, I was out of it, and shaved it off by mistake.....will start another one tomorrow.
Heres to growing ugly mustaches for many, many years

I'm in
How fortunate for me - I've had facial hair in some form for 40 years - so I'm already there.
I guess I will lose the trimmer for the month and see if anyone notices. I always wanted a ZZ Top beard...so perhaps I'll have an effective "food collector" by Thanksgiving!

I have had a monster moustach for years, and dedicate it to this cause . Will not trim during November.

I Support the Cause!
Sixty years or more ago, I entered a beard growing contest as part of my home town's Pioneer Days celebration. After I went six weeks without shaving, my workplace partner looked at me and said, "You are not taking part in that beard growing contest, are you?"
After work that day, dejectedly, I went home and shaved.
I am with you in spirit, but I choose to watch this contest from the side-lines.

Old-Timer, my father grew up in central Kansas. His dad was a wheat farmer. Kansas calls itself The Sunflower State. If you are from Kansas I would be interested to hear about it. We used to vacation there every summer during harvest, but I never lived there myself. I loved it; the views are magnificant, and I loved the total quiet on the plaines, broken only by the continuous sound of a breeze blowing. His family arrived there in the 1880s, via Chicago, and then Iowa

Max,
I grew up on a farm in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas during the Depression. I have driven through Kansas many times and I agree that the scenery is often beautiful. My best Army buddy was from Kinsley, Kansas, and I have had friends from various Kansas communities.
Good to talk with you.

It appears that my non-participation in the beard growing event has lowered the enthuiasm for many of you.
If you are growing a beard in recognition of this cause, I encourage you to talk about it.

Old Timer,
I have a pretty full goatee now. Look like I am ready for a Chuck Norris movie !

Max,
Seems that others do not care to talk about beards. I'm OK with that.
I wish to tell you that my best army buddy, who was from Kinsley, Kansas, was a wheat farmer. He inherited the farm from his dad, who died at a young age.

Still growing my wimpy mustache, no comments yet.
At times, I wear a blue Prostate Cancer pin, that receives some notice, which give an opportunity to discuss activities for early dectection, which may save a life.

today, someone noticed my mustache, at a ukulele group that I play with, so I had a chance to talk about Movember, Men's Health and prostate cancer diagnosis tests.
I think that next year I will dye my mustache blue. That should work better.
Best,
H

H & O,
My next-door neighbor participated in Movember this year, and has a full beard now. He says EVERYONE noticed his.
I thanked him for caring and participating. Just for Men sells a separate moustach and beard color treatment, but I don't think they have "blue" !
