Question about stage of primary liver cancer

My husband was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in September. He had a 10cm tumor on the left side of his liver. Doctors said it was positioned well for surgery and he underwent resection shortly thereafter. They believe they removed all of the cancer in the liver, but also removed a marble-sized tumor from the omentum that was also HCC. He will receive follow up scans every 6 months. I never heard anyone talk in terms of what stage his cancer is/was and I can't seem to find his particular circumstances on the web.  Does anyone know what stage he would be considered?
