looking for dr.
Hello
I'm looking for a urologist in Ann Arbor ... would prefer a woman. I had a partial nephrectomy in 2008 at Cleveland Clinic. My GP has been ordering my follow-up scans for past several years, but I would be more comfortable with a urologist (really long story about experiences in hometown). Any recommendations?"

Uro in A2
trip3t,
Not familiar with any Urologists in Ann Arbor although I am only 30 miles away. It will probably be difficult finding a women Urologist as this is a very male dominated specialty. You might want to call University of Michigan Hospital for a referral or St Joseph hospital in Ypsi
Laurie on this board is from Ann Arbor (aamdsi?) and she may be able to help. I see a Urologist out of the Michigan Institute of Urology which has about 60 Urologists and is I believe the largest Urrology practce in Southeast Michigan, but I do not believe they have any offices closer to Ann Arbor than Novi.

Thank you from mid-Mich. I have UM directory, but was hoping someone would have first-hand experience. Your postings are very helpful. The folks on this board have really helped me deal with the pains and experiences my former doctor downplayed. My GP has been very empathetic. I'm 64 now and it's been a very up and down recovery for me, but like you and others, I'm happy to still be here. ... I live in East Lansing - no women urologist here (unfortunately). Thank you, again.

Hi.
I wish didn't have to meet you here.
I have a really grand urologist at the UM hospital. Since being told I needed a partial I have met a couple others that have him as well.
Dr. David Miller. He was my surgeon. A little "gruff" but in a good way. Listens to you, makes sure you know all what is happening and going to happen. Called the night before surgery and the day after I got home.
Also have a really really great PCP (who is female) if you need one. She worked closely with Miller (Still working) to make sure I am getting through this.

I called on Monday to schedule an appointment with Dr Miller and am waiting for them to call back with date. I'm not sure how many RCC oncologist they have but the person that answered the phone took my information and said that once a week a board meets to decide which doctor gets new patient assignments.
