Update-after over 3 wks Friend knows what type of cancer-such a LONG time of the unknown

Please keep close family friend's (KNOWN since birth) husband has been in the hospital for 9 days and still no exact type of cancer-he is critial-many blood transfusions. Her mom died of breast cancer after years reoccruances, she her self have had lung and VERY bad breast cancer -remission right now...SO SHE HAS HAD HER SHARE OF CANCER-so please keep her and her husband in your thoughts...still unknown-exactly what type of cancer.

    This is now 10 days no

    This is now 10 days no diagnosis- they may have to do yet another marrow test-THEY think they know but not 100%-so they have not started any treaments. The waiting is killing both of them-

    They did let him go home for the weekend-no visitors, no outside food etc..immune system way down-but thought he may never go back home. So the was a boost of good in his/ their life.

    Glad that they got to go home. Trying to get rest,peace and quiteness in hospital you cannot find. Hopefully this will help them some by them being in their own home. Hope dx soon for him so his treatments can start soon and pray for both of them for the energy they are both going to have to fight this wicked beast. Hugs, Pixie

    After being home his #s went

    After being home his #s went to critical levels again-sadly- STILL NO results after 12 days- they resent out bone marrow for 2nd opionion. But as we all know the waiting games it the PITS...it stinks and draining on everyone.

    More transfustion, still no treatment started since they are UNSURE exaclty what it is. Hard to believe with all the technology in todays world.

    must be so nerve wracking for over 10 days now-so ill and no one can tell them/ him what or why so no treatments.

     

    so surprised they can't come up with something-just almost dialy transfusions.

    AFter waiting over 3 wks they

    AFter waiting over 3 wks they came up with what type of cancer....they were going to start chemo Monday-keeping him over night since platlets and other issuese. HE went home for a night-temp etc and rushed to the ER, now sedated and on life support. He is hanging on to life..his BP so low last night they took him out of sedation slightly.

     

    My heart is breaking for the family. (the mom died of cancer 3 yrs ago, dad a year ago, the wife of patient had 2 cancers very bad and back on feet and now spouse) TOUGH few years for te family

    It's just not fair what this family has been thru. You are a terrific friend to them, I can tell. My thoughts are with you... Anna
