Appendaceal Cancer

I have a very rare form of cancer of the appendix and I am looking for others who may have had it.  Or others who have had a rare cancer and would like to just chat and share stories of our lives.  I'm new in cancer survivorship and I'm finding it very hard.  I live in Alaska and there are few supports where I live.  That is why I joined this network support group.

I'm stage IV Appendix cancer survivor

Metastatic mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the appendix.  Dx'd in April, 2007, and doing great now.  Your most important project is to get to an Appendix Cancer specialist, which will probably mean traveling.  Please don't let your dr treat you has having a simple variant of colon cancer.  Send me a message if you'd like more information.

    Just diagnosed

    Hi Alice

i was just diagnosed with appendaceal cancer. I had surgery to remove the large tumor obstructing my bowel and into 3 rd week post op. I am now seing Dr Garrett Nash at memorial Sloan Kettering . The plan is 6 months of systemic I've chemo then surgery and then intraperitoneal chemo during surgery.

I am very scared about all of this and not sure what to think. I was reading a comment from a post of your that it has been several years since your diagnosis . Would love to hear more
