Two years!
Today I am celebrating my two years of getting past cancer! I'm having lunch with a friend who is marking her 27th anniversary of sobriety today. So a non-alcoholic toast to us and to everyone in this community as we help each other get through.
Also, a very happy birthday to Martha!

Big Congratulations to both you and your friend. These are both accomplishments worth celebrating!
During my cancer recovery period (you know that now endless period of life).....I returned to school. As part of a human services project I attended an open AA meeting and left overwhelmingly inspired by the challenges members faced and the 24/7 strength required to stay in the fight. While I realized many similarities in our struggles, I felt as I personally had nothing on the scale of "challenges" in comparison to some of the stories I heard. The meeting was life changing for me and has played a big part in my emotional recovery as well.
So, again BIG kuddos to you as they are well deserved, but please pass on my admiration to your friend on 27yrs as well.

Happy 2-year anniversary to you! That's a big one, as you know. I am so, so happy for you and I hope you and your friend had a nice celebration lunch today.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. My husband and I spent the day together just shopping, eating and more eating!
I wish you many, many more anniversaries!

Yeahhhhhhh!
Yipppeeeee! So happy for YOU. I started feeling normal after two years. I am so happy for you and happy for your friend celebrating her sobriety, which is really under rated! I haven't had a drink for almost five years this February and wish I had tried not drinking much sooner. There is so much glamour around drinking alcohol in books, magazines, movies, etc. But it really isn't that beneficial to enjoying life. I enjoy saving the money I spent on wine to buy earrings and yarn for projects now:-)
Anyway, so happy for both you and your friend!
Sincerely,
Sandy

Congrats on your 2 year anniversary, what a wonderful feeling it must be to have that time gone by. I'm sure looking back you are light years away from your days of treatment. So happy you are celebrating, and congrats to your friend as well. Wishing you many more celebrations.
