in memory of cathy

i would like to share some information with you who have had breast cancer or going through it. i just lost a friend to angiosarcoma of the breast. a friend i met through this discussion board and whom i never met in person, but emailed and chatted on the phone with for almost 2 years.  she was diagnosed feb 2013. although, this cancer,  is on the breast, is not a breast cancer. it starts with swelling, bruising, then a spot forms, which looks like a blood blister. it will grow and eventually come out on top of the skin.. or there can be many nodules under the skin...this can be a primary cancer or secondary cancer(caused by radiation). cathy received poor care from her oncoligist and then switched to another at a mojor hospital and again received poor care. any oncologist should know, you give chemo after surgery to protect the rest of the body. this she did not have.. eventually her body bacame engulfed in cancer. i never heard her give up or quit fighting.. she stayed so positive and so optomistic. for the last month of her life she couldn't walk and had limited use of her arms. but kept the attitude that she would regain use of her limbs. i'll miss her dearly, but i take solice in knowing she is in no more pain... i too am a survivor of breast cancer 14 yrs.. and angiosarcoma of the breast (from radiation) 5 yreas... i feel answering my email from cathy on this discussion board, was one of the best things in my life... i had a new friend..  i hope you all become everlasting survivors.

    Memory

What a beautiful tribute you have given us for your friend cathy.......and thank you for the wish that we all become everlasting survivors...... hope you do too.     I believe that we are all already in Eternity and that the little matter of that thing we call Death is just a thin veil that we step thru into a New Life.     That doesn't mean I'm not scared....but after thinking about it for twelve years now I find that I'm not going to let Death ruin my day each day either.   So sad when we lose a good friend....very sad and we grieve....but we have to keep going....we are all Fighters here........stay strong.............Love and Prayers.....

    NO MORE PAIN

So sorry to hear about the passing of your friend with this kind of BC. It seems like we are damned if we do and are damned if we don't. I have heard that rads can cause cancer and sorry your friend had to go through this but she is no longer in pain. We cannot look into the future and tell when our time is up but I congratulate you with being a 9yr Survivor and many more years to come. ((( HUGS )))  Pixie Dust
