Thankful
Hi All,
Two years out from my last treatment and my Remission is holding!! I am so grateful for this gift, I have a grandson to play with!!!! I am one happy person. Love my new doctor, had a long discussion about future possibilites and current symptoms, and feel confident that I am in good hands. No matter what the future holds I know that this brilliant woman and her team will take good care of me.
I wanted to share this good news with all of you and I pray that you all hear a good word from your oncologist very soon if you haven't already. This dreadful disease is NOT going to get us. So much research is going on every day that even for my rare Nodal Marginal Zone NHL there are many new options available and more are coming. Hang tight, take care and know that I think of all of you daily and wish you well.
Prayers and Hugs,
Donna

Hi Donna,
I'm so happy your remission is strong and holding! I sure know what you mean about our sweet grandbabies...they are absolutely the best medicine any doctor could order for us! Can you believe Lizzy is 3 1/2 already? Time sure flys by! As you know I relapsed in April...right eye, right cheek and right paratracheal node in my chest. So far all we have delt with is my eye and thankfully the two treatments of targeted radiation put it in check. Right now I'm doing watchful waiting and as long as the tumors in my chest and cheek don't grow any bigger or turn aggressive, I can continue for the time being without treatment. My new Onc said she would rescan in the Fall, but so far I've not been called in. I feel good, so I'm going to let October slide and contact her in November to see when she wants to scan. Don't want to ignore it too long and then be sorry for waiting. Thanks for sharing your good news and check in when you have time between "baby fun". I wish you continued remission and good health my friend...we are part of the "old timers" group and need to stay in touch. Much love...Sue

Sue,
Thanks so much for your note. I KNEW being a grandmom was going to be something else because of friends like you !! You would talk about Lizzy and I would think, oh man I can't wait!!! Well, here I am and you were right . I call how we feel, crazy Grandma love!! I am going to have a very hard time ever saying no to my Alexander!! What a cutie. And watching our children as parents ia another whole level to this isn't it?? I love seeing my daughter with him. What a great Mom she is!
I have been following and I knew you were now in watchful waiting mode. (Not easy) But you are handling this relapse with your usual grace. I know you're going to do fine. Praying for you that the tumors are shrinking and are going to leave you alone ! You've got a lot of Lizzy time and fishing to do!!
None of this is easy. I pray that a cure is found soon.
Love and hugs to you,
Donna

GG,
Thank you for your kind note. Yes, Remissions can hold! I'm very happy and not taking one second for granted!! Having as much "baby" time as I can. (They live 3 hours away, it's not that easy!) And yes, being a grandmom is not easily explained with words. Crazy love. I will see him this weekend, can't wait!
All the best to you.
Hugs,
Donna
