The good news is my PSA was 0 this morning.

This is almost one year post IMRT radiation and 5 years following my Davinci surgery.

Glad to be in the 0 club.

Next PSA check is in 6 months.

Welcome back to the Zero's club

Good to hear about the zeros. I wonder if your salvage treatment was the combo RT + HT.

In my SRT I did radiation alone which took me to a nadir 13 months post the treatment. Unfortunately it did not become stable and it started to increase.

Success stories of salvage treatments are common in cases that remission was mantained during five years.

    Best wishes for your case.

    Congratulations friend.

Yes, I am still around and doing well; haven't been on the board for about two years. I recently passed my sixth anniversary of 0 readings. I am now 88 and a 23-year prostate cancer survivor. Doing a little bragging, I guess. Forgive me for that.

Continued best wishes to all of you.

Why I have been absent from the Board

Here is why you haven't seen posts from me for several months. Two years ago residents in the continuing care retirement community where I live elected me to our office of president. That assignment gave me plenty of tasks to keep life interesting. It was a fun and enriching experience.

Now that that assignment has ended, I plan to participate on the prostate discussion board whenever I think I have worthwhile information to share.

Vasco and Old Salt, thank you for your welcomes.

    Sorry I didn't respond

    Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

You asked about side effects from the radiation. Basically no bad side effects. At about the 1/2 point I started getting very fatigued after treatments and by Wed of each week all I wanted was to sit in the easy chair at home. Come Saturdays was very wiped out but then had the two day break and back at it on Monday.

No sick stomach, One minor radiation burn which went away pretty fast after treatment stopped, a couple very strange looking BM's. No issue with urinination and I'm still able to get an erection using Levitra at 5 years out post Surgery and one year out from Radiation.
