Stage 4
My husband was diagnosed back in 2011 stage 4. He had a resection and they removed everything they could see. Everything went good until it showed up again. A mass in his liver near the main artery. The doc said he thought he could remove it but he went in and closed him back up and said he did not want to risk it, to close to the main artery. So he did a few rounds of radiation.
CEA levels looked good for a while, this was all late last year to early this year.
In July he started to swell in his legs and they said he had a blood clot. He was in the hospital for a few weeks because on top of that his bilirubin levels went up. So they put a stint in and he has a biliary bag on to drain the waste. They internalized the drain so that part is good.
Now his CEA as of last week was 120. He is getting chemo every 3 weeks in addition to taking the chemo pills for a week.
He had his 2 round of chemo today and it is making him so sick this time. The first time back in 2011 was not as bad. I am doing my best to hold it together. It is so hard, but not nearly as hard as what he is going through and has been through. I love him so much!

It is just as hard on you. I am the cancer survivor and I have watched my wife suffer through every step with me over the last 9 years.

Is the worst thief of all. It effects everyone around us. I'm sure it's tougher this time around because his body is weaker. Prayers for you and your husband.

Stage 4
He just finished up the 2 round of chemo. The first day was really hard. He was really sick. Yesterday and today he is doing better. He is eating and drinking better than he did for the first round. He can't wait to swing his golf club again! Maybe that will be soon or maybe he can go putting.
2 down......3 to go. I pray it's working.
