Triple Negative with Metastasis to the sternum

I had triple negative breast cancer stage 2, no lymph node involvement.  I now have triple negative metastasis to the sternum.  They say I have a unique case, so it will be brought before the conference to discuss and determine my treatment plan.  I had double mastectomy on 7/11 of this year, PET scan 8/26 showed spot on sternum.  I feel like my care is delayed from one thing to another.  This is an aggressive cancer and I found out today the conference will not be until 10/2.  Now I'm cosidered stage 4 since it's on the bone.

Has anyone else had this?  What treatments did you have?  Were you triple negative?

    Hi I am sorry

I have had mets after 4 years of initial diagnosis . after biopcy has confirmed methastasis

my first trestmemt was an oral Chemo Xeloda. I am not triple negative, however we treated mets as such with Chemo first for 8 months. The choice of Chemo is important. There are some immunotherapy drugs in clinical trials it would be an option for you.

I am really sorry, it is hard we are here for you

    hugs

    I was dx Sept 2010

With mets to the bones and skin. I was +,+,undetermined. I started with radiation for the pain in pelvic, tailbone, and hips. Back on Tamoxifen for 6 months (became toxic to my system), then in Feb 2011 started chemo. It was 8 1/2 years since origional idc dx. I have it in mostly all bones except hands and feet. It was hard to get my head around it at first.

I am sorry that it has metastisized on you. Good thing is that it sounds like they were on top of it to find it when it has only gone to one bone. Hopefullly with all of the new therapy's, they can target the spot and have many good years of clean scans to follow.. Wishing you the best.

    Pink Waiting Room....

I'm Triple Negative Anita....but I did have lymph node involvement.  However....no mets yet but have not had a PET since 2011.    Very sorry to hear of your met to sternum.....but also glad that they found it ....they can do Miracles today and we are all praying for you that will be the case.  Meanwhile, we are in the Pink Waiting Room and about the only thing we can do about it is realize that we need to try to make the waiting a little easier to take....if possible.   Like reading a lot of  Philosophy maybe....??   Like thinking about the fact that all humans are in the Waiting Room truthfully and just don't know it?   What comes next is all a big mystery.....it is the INFERNAL WAITING that drives us nutso.    Deep Breathing exercises and maybe long walks can help....and LAUGHTER ****   WE NEED LAUGHTER.....EVEN WHEN LIFE IS NOT FUNNY............    hugs, glo

    Thanks GlowMore

I keep thinking there is no telling how many had a spot on the sternum and just didn't have a PET to find it!  I know my God is more aggressive than this cancer.  Still thinking positive!

What a wonderful smile you have

Anita, my cancer was different than yours but I have also read about lots of women with this and they are still going strong. There are so many different chemos and meds out there now than they had to work with 20yrs. ago. Whatever the decision is made with your doctors, you also have to fight this cancer yourself and stay strong. Like you said you have God on your side and he will give the doctors and you the best treatment out there for you. Stay strong and keep fighting and keep that wonderful smile on your face. Please let us know how you are doing.  ((((( HUGS )))))  Pixie Dust
