Cancer Sucks BIG TIME!
Saying goodbye to a dear friend, 54 years old, to Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. Houston told her a month ago there was nothing else they could do. She chose to go to Cancer Centers of America in Tulsa, Ok. They pulled out all the stops, enclouding SIX surgeries, radiation, targeted radiation, diet, ect. She has been through pure HELL! She is in systemapitic multiple organ failure. Liver has stoped, one kidney has stoped, one kidney at 20% and going. The family has been called. Doctors say 3-5 days. We are still praying for that mirical She is on enough liquid morphine that she is able to hold her grandbabies and say goodbye to her kids and extended family. Sorry for the downer, but I'm just so damn mad and sad! Debra

Debra, I couldn't agree more: Cancer SUCKS big time! Your friend is in my prayers so that she finds peace and that is true, for you, too. What a terrible loss and at a fairly young age. As I travel this cancer journey, I am often reminded that none of it makes any sense. There are so many awful and terminal diseases that people can get that make no sense to me and it breaks my heart to see others suffer. Hopefully, Hospice is involved in your friend's care and is keeping her as comfortable as humanly possible.
Take good care of yourself, Debra. You are in my thoughts,
Cathy

So totally agree with all the posts. Breaks my heart. I hope she is in no pain and is able to say good-bye to all her loved ones.

Thanks
Thanks everyone...she passed this morning. We were all on line with her niece who was updating us minute to minute. She fought it til she passed, assuring everyone there she was not dying and for them to go home. This whole cancer bit is just wrong on so many levels. DAMN CANCER!

Thank you all so much, I can always count on you all! Now to get through the wake,Rosery, funeral mass, and burial. Lots to do to get the family through, but we'll make it, crying and laughing! She would have liked that! She was the kind to show up at a funeral wearing a clown nose and pointy hat!
