Hi Cathy,  I just received my pathology report after surgery and I was shock to learn that I also have Serous Carcinoma!  I was not told this by my gyn onc. I had several lymph nodes that were positive as we'll.  I am so glad that I have taken more of an interest to learn things instead of asking my oncologist,  I am learning so much from these posts and reports.  I thank each and everyone of you for caring enough to get the word out for all of us who are trying to learn about are cancer..  I pray for everyone and again I thank you.

Hi, Deb,

Does your pathology report indicate that you have two types of cancer?  I think I read somewhere that unless your cancer is 10% or more Serous Carcinoma -also called UPSC - it will not be labeled as Serous Carcinoma.  My path report was an eye opener for me, too.

I am so very sorry about your daughter and  that you experienced similar grief/pain  and so very new, a month? my heart aches for you, when I ask my creator for strength I won't forget to remember you. I'll ask that your strength is continually renewed.  absolutely nothing is worse,nothing at all.

I am waiting on results of scans taken last week so will keep you guys posted. 

My mom is 74 and diagnosed with UPSC Sage 3C and Breast Cancer Stage 2 last year, and is BRAC 2 postivie. She is just finished her treatment after 1 year. 

UPSC stage3C Dx age 58 treated at UNC surgery, taxotere and carbo.28 external radiation and 3 internal radiation,repeated taxotere and carbo,mets on CT followed by 6 doxil treatments.I have been in remission for 2 months.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner about your pathology report.  From what you described, it appears that you have two different types of Grade 3 cancers, endometriod and the serous.  I don't think having more than one type of uterine cancer is unusual. I read somewhere that having UPSC mixed with another uterine cancer increases survival for reason that are beyond me.   I am stumped as to what the significance is of the statement: "Extensive tumor necrosis".  Since necrosis means death, I would think that this is a good thing.  I read someplace that cancer cells can die from a lack of a blood supply, so perhaps that is what has caused the necrosis.  Sometimes, too, cancer cells self-destruct, called apoptosis.  It is believed that chemotherapy causes cancer cells to commit suicide.  Maybe, your immune system has destroyed some of the tumor cancer cells.  I don't know what maximal tumor invasion means or is referring to in the report.  Lymphovascular invasion refers to the cancer cells being found in the lymph nodes and blood.  Vascular refers to blood. 

I hope this helps, Deb.  I have to admit that I don't understand a great deal of what I have been reading about uterine cancer.  Some of this research stuff is just way over my head!  The nurses who post here are much more knowledgeable than I am about human biology and perhaps they will share their knowledge with regards to your report.

I thought I had two different types of cancer because my path report mentioned endometrial and then it had the word serous.  I asked the doctor about it and he said I had one.  Still wondering about it, I asked these ladies on this board and I think the thread was called Endometrial vs Serous.  Serous is a form of Endometrial.  There's apparantly different levels.  If you look through these threads and find the one that says the "Endometrial vs Serous, you will probably find your answer.   This whole Uterine cancer thing can be really confusing.  Love these women and their knowledge.

Still NED as of September 4 scan. That's 4 years now since diagnosis  and I thank G-d every day  for my good fortune

but wish with all my heart that everyone could be healed from this miserable affliction.

You asked for my diet Molimoli - maybe it could help someone!

Breakfast - the black raspberry smoothie I outlined above

                 Organic eggwhite omelette with 4 crushed garlic cloves and some kale sauteed

                  in 1 tsp coconut oil - served with organic tomato paste. I flavor this with

                  oregano, chili powder, black pepper, thyme, etc.

Lunch-   every raw veg in my fridge, some ground in cuisinart chopper/grinder- carrot,

             pea shoots, red cabbage, shallots, turnip, daikon, lettuces,peppers etc.

             served with homemade tahini - organic sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds,

             sunflower seeds, lemon juice, garlic, shallot, fresh dill, parsley, seasalt.

             Made in  Vitamix  and frozen in pyrex containers. Before eating I

             grind flaxseed and add it to tahini.

Dinner - a steamed cruciferous veg is main course with  a small amount of wildcaught fish

             or organic chicken on the side, sometimes sweet potato or wild rice.

             Dressing for veg is Vegennaise blended with fresh parsley and dill, garlic clove,

             onion powder and couple drops stevia. Prepare it for the week.

Snack - organic granny smith apple, small  assortment of every  organic nut-

            brazil, walnut, almond, cashew, etc.

Drink - filtered water with some organic apple cider vinegar

           chamomile, green tea, peppermint tea.

a few times a week - blended in vitamix veg drink - spinach leaves, red beet slice,

                               broccoli, carrot ,1  tbs. soaked goji berries, strawberries,

                                piece of organic lemon, some liquid stevia.

My goal, as you can see, is to eat  the widest variety of foods in small amounts

every single day. Don't want to miss any cancer fighting nutrients.

Sometimes use cranberries, cherries , blueberries and pomegranate seeds

in  the breakfast smoothie.
