healthcare issues/red tape
I know I've seen many issues posted here about insurance issues (red tape) and cost of medical care. I was on the accoi.org site (which is for ACC) and was given this information to share with other survivors of any type dx.
The web site is Patient Avocate Foundation Welcomes You ! - PAF And their phone # is
1-800-532-5274 There is no cost for their services, and they work with people all over the U.S.
My friend was having issues getting her insurance company to pay their fair share on chemo, and other meds. she needed. They helped cut the cost to minimal, to zero on some meds. (They found a mail order pharmacy that would work with her primary RX insurance)
I guess they help solve insurance and health care access problems. And will help with financial and legal issues also. I thought this might be of help to some having any kind of problems they might need a helping hand with. To take any stress off of a cancer patient and their families is welcomed. Hope this info. helps ! Hugs, Katie
