Labor Day...any plans?

The game last night...
Our normally amazing pitcher gave up a record 4 home runs, and the Mariners had a pathetic showing, but you couldn't beat the view from our cheap seats!
Plus garlic fries.

Maybe an extra glass or two of wine would help?
(we need an emoji slugging back a drink)
A glass of wine sounds really good right now. Don't know if I want to go back out to get it, though. I'll have to give it some thought!
The remodeling will be a lot, but it's something that needs to be done. We're having the contractor rip up our carpets so he can sand and polish the wood floors (our dogs destroyed our rugs). We're also redoing our kitchen: new cabinets, counter, lights, backsplash and tile floor. It's a lot ,but I am hoping he can do some of it while I'm down south visiting our granddaughter for her 1st birthday. Our older daughter is expecting her first baby, so we have another blessing coming in march. Hopefully my sister will hold down the fort with my brother and dad while I'm away. All should be good because I have a nurse visiting my brother 2x a week and I also have someone who cleans the apartments once a week. It's so much easier with the new apartment.
Enjoy your weekend.

but Safeco has a retractable roof, so even if it did, we'd stay dry! Kind of a necessity in this town.

A Big Surprise - Updatemarbleotis said:A BIG Surprise........
My daughter's boyfriend is asking her to get married today.
He asked my husband and I for her hand last week (how adorable)
She has no clue........
I am over-the-moon-happy
And most importantly 3 years ago while undergoing all the cancer-stuff I never thought I would ever see this day, ever.
I will update and let you all know how he did!
This is truely what life is all about!
Well my friends.... he did it. My daughter is now engaged. They were up in the beautiful mountains of NC where he asked her.
They face-timed us and both looked so happy. My daughter looked so so happy and in love.
I am truely blessed that I am here to see this.
Each minute is a gift.
Love to you all. Next we have a wedding to plan.........

Getting out in nature is the best medicine, imo.

thankfully my youngest is 10. I am in awe of people who manage illness along with a toddler! I could barely do either one on its own...

I ended up putting about 100
I ended up putting about 100 miles on my motorcycle and another 30 mountain biking and threw in some weight lifting. I had a great vivit with my father yesterday. I had to start Xeloda today and go for infusion this Friday for the first time in 3 weeks. I felt to damn good over the past couple off week. Tons of energy, No stomach issues and moutain biking at a level I thought I would never achieve again. I drank a few beers last night feeling sorry for my self about getting back on the treatment wagon. It almost brought me to tears. I am writing this already feeling fatigueded and nauseas fro Xeloda. Chemo can really beat you down in an instant.

I am so glad that you got yourself a really good weekend in before the Hell starts again.
May you have the least amount of side effects. If only I could wave a wand and make it so.

I know that the times I could steal away from chemo and all the crappy side effects, go to the beach or the mountains for a bit, made a big difference to my spirit. Treatment is so draining and disheartening. I'm really sorry you have to go through more of it.
