Labor Day...any plans?

I can't believe summer is almost over!  The older I get, the faster time seems to go by.

(I read an article recently that said this is due to the fact that as we get older, each period of time is a smaller percentage of our overall lifespan, so that's why a summer seems to last forever when you're 10 but not so much when you're 50!)

I'm in the midst of another tapering of my pain meds, so won't be doing much this weekend, but we are going to a Mariner's game tonight, to watch Felix Hernandez pitch.  Maybe a bbq at my sister's cabin on Monday.

How about you guys?  Any plans?

I'm going to a bar called

I'm going to a bar called "The End" to see my cousin's friend play in his band.  Other than that just the usual things getting done.  Maybe I'll do something spontaneous=)

    That's actually pretty exciting...

and I'm impressed that you have the energy to go out to a bar at night.  Go Helen (we expect a selfie or two when you get back)!

    Nothing this weekend, but...

Hubby and I just spent a wonderful few days away, visiting Lake Tahoe and then down to the Reno Rib Cook off, where we ate a whole selection of ribs until they were coming out of our ears. It was great!

And as you have read, we hooked up with Nana, who is also visiting Reno.

    Great times!

    I should have...
...been at Burning Man. I'm an artist that has shown work there 6 of the last 9 years. The organization found out about my situation and if I make it I have a free ticket for next year. As I've said, the support and encouragement I've gotten has really inspired me.

Do you have any images of your art?

    A Burner

We have plenty of Burners coming through town. Never been, myself. Sad about the death out there, this year. The first in a very long time.

I would also love to see some of your art work.

Today we go into the city to

Today we go into the city to pick our daughter up from the airport (she and her b/f were visiting our son, DIL and grandbaby down south). We're hoping that we don't run into road closures because of Obama's visit. Tomorrow the hubby and I are going to a winery with friends to do some wine tasting. Monday we'll probably just relax and spend the day together. We are doing some remodeling in our house, so I have to pack things up and move them into a back room. I can't wait for it to be started and done with.

    Well, everyone in my family

    Cool

Well, everyone in my family seems to be working, except my son who is interested in a new female friend more than mom!! I am NOT ready to give up summer yet, so, I am scooping up a friend and heading to the shore for some great food, a day of shopping, ocean absorbing and listening to some great outside music from a few bands!!  I think a lobster salad (with butter and not mayo) on a croissant will be had!

    A BIG Surprise........

My daughter's boyfriend is asking her to get married today.

He asked my husband and I for her hand last week (how adorable)

    She has no clue........

    I am over-the-moon-happy

And most importantly 3 years ago while undergoing all the cancer-stuff I never thought I would ever see this day, ever.

I will update and let you all know how he did!

This is truely what life is all about!

    Quiet time

Enjoying my 15 year old granddaughter alone. My husbNd went dove hunting in Az. My granddaughter and I are hoping for some peace, quiet and lots of snuggles!  My family and friends think I can't be alone so they tend to come by. We will hide out!  Just kidding. I'm honored by my support system. we may go down to the beach for dinner!  Have a great time everyone

that can be pretty overwhelming.  Hope it's not too stressful for you!

Maybe an extra glass or two of wine would help?

(we need an emoji slugging back a drink)

    Lobster...

I am so jealous!  We have our Dungeness Crab here, which is delicious, but lobster seems to only really show up in any quantities around New Year's Eve.  I would love to be able to grab a lobster sandwich whenever I wanted one.

And yes, butter.  ALWAYS BUTTER. Foot in Mouth

What a wonderful milestone, and I know getting to be part of that when things are so iffy for people in our situation makes it just that much sweeter.  Do let us know how it goes!
