Nivolumab-Sutent Scan Update
I know I haven't posted in quite a while, but I did want to share some good news. I had a scan today and a spot that showed up in April (and triggered a Sutent re-start) is now gone. Scan showed no evidence of disease. hope it is Approved soon for all.

NED
Congratulations - On the good news! You must have had a huge sigh of relief when you read that CT report. Now that you are NED (again) how long do they plan to continue treatment with Nivolumab and Sutent? Do they ever plan to place you on a “maintenance dose” schedule or will you continue on your current schedule of Nivolumab-Sutent until its FDA approved for kidney Cancer around 2016. - BDS
PS Have you had any side effects with Nivolumab?

I will continue on Sutent and Nivolumab until it is approved. Because I had the lung met progression after my first clear scan, we don't want to risk a 2nd progression that would kick me out of the trial. in my mind better safe than sorry. The Sutent is causing my side effects, not the Nivo. Since I dropped to 37.5, SE'a have been manageable. Tender feet, higher blood pressure, metallic taste, and dry mouth vary with each cycle. The Nivo has not given me any issues at all. I was on only Nivo from October 2013 theu April 2014 and it was as if I wasn't taking anything.
Hoping for approval in 2015, I was very encouraged to see the Merck anti PD-1 get approved. I wonder out loud if it should be tried with Sutent.
