    Dear Friend,

I don't have any experience with Stage 4 and i am sorry to hear that news. There are many people here that will give you good advise and getting a second opinion doesn't hurt either.

I wish you good luch with the treatment.

    Welcome to the forum

I am sorry that you have the dreaded Cancer, but now you have it, and have found this forum, you will find much support and information.

I started my journey Stage III and then after only a few months NED, they found a met in the liver, so up I go to Stage IV.

There are many here that are 3 & 4 and we all have experience across the board, so we can usually help. Although, at the end of the day, your oncologist is the you  turn to.

Stay as strong as you can. A positive outlook can take you a long, long way and get you through some real tough times.

I look forward to getting to know you here on the forum.

    Welcome and sorry that you

Welcome and sorry that you are here.  I'm also Stage 4, diagnosed Nov 2008.  I was in remission for 2.5 years, then a met surfaced on my liver, and now I have two mets on my lungs and two on my chest lymph nodes.   Staying positive, staying strong, and doing all I can to stay healthy As possible.

We we are here for each other, so any questions ask away.

    wishing you strength

There are all too many people on this forum that know exactly what you are saying. I thank God that I'm feeling great today.  And I try to live in the moement... But it is very challenging knowing that the cancer is there.  Blessings to you.  Praying for strength and faith as we face today and tomorrow. Good luck my friend.

    Hey Harley

Sorry to hear the news, I finished chemo November 2013 too, I was stage 3 and had a lymph node light up and then mysteriously disappear and now there's a spot in my liver. This is a marathon and we will be living with cancer in some way or another the rest of our lives. The trick is to not let it rule your life, listen to the docs and be proactive but try to be happy.  Be grateful for the care and support you're receiving, try to live in the moment and a little humor now and then helps. Welcome to the forum and good luck!

    Good to hear from you...

and nice to see you on your feet and not in the hospital bed. Here's hoping you stay on your feet and out of the hospital.

Hope they are able to take care of your lymph nodes in good order and have you back to being NED.

    Thinking of you!

    There's a big debate

On the chemo no chemo question. Personally if the doc is giving you the option I would go no chemo but do everything I could to boost my immune system. Check out the book radical remission, learn about supplements, exercise, get your mind right, maybe cannabis oil. Follow your gut. I worry that chemo destroys your immune system, the one thing you really need to fight off cancer. Just my opinion- not telling you what to do.

    Good Luck!

Are you wanting to edit/add to what you originally wrote?

If you want to edit/add to what you originally posted you can.

Go to that post at the top of the string of replies.

Just over top of that box, in blue I believe, you will see the word edit.  Click here and it will put that post in the same type of window you first wrote it in.  You can also change the title.

When done with your changes, go to the bottom and click cubmit.

    Edit

And if you want to edit a post you added to a thread, you can only do it if that post has not been replied to. Like now, you can't edit your post asking this question. But if nobody has answered, then you will see an edit button onthe bottom right if your post.

Your initial post you can edit, as said above. You can even edit the subject line, which I find very helpful.

    Hope this helps.

I opted for chemo and a

I opted for chemo and a healthier lifestyle.  I haven't given up sugar but I no longer eat junk.  I've gone all organic.  You have to go with your gut and what feels right for you.  Also I never heard of the PET scan limitation.  That seems harsh considering so many people with illnesses need them.  I could see limiting to 3 scans a year but not in a lifetime.  My doctor won't scan me often, she says the stuff you have to drink alone will kill you.

    Double check

I hope that information is incorrect. PET scans will definitely be a part of my future and I've already had two.
