Feeling a glimmer ..
Hello everyone! I have been away from the board for some time with a whole lot of life happening, some good, some bad, but all worth living, I have been checking in to keep up with everyone and keeping everyone close in thoughts.
Sadly loosing several friends from the board and several family members the past few months has been difficult for me.
I recently had my scans and blood work .. both coming back looking great! I am estatic about NED!! Maybe premature .. but never the less I just can't help feeling that I possibly could have conquered this? Is it possible at stage IV? I have been NED for almost 2 years since surgery. Is this the date the clock starts? I have read both from treatment end and from surgery .. so I am not quite sure .. but anyhow, I actually feel a glimmer of hope. Hope to see some of those milestones we so long to watch our children accomplish. Hope to have some normalcey return to life. Hope to see 50.
I do have my war wounds though!

Congratulations!
It is so good to see you here, and to hear your words, two years NED.
Why not think you have beat this, even at stage IV. What may happen may not, so might as well look at the positive.
None of us get out of this without the war wounds, both physical and emotional, but it sure beats dying. Well, I know a few really, really struggle with long-term side effects, and I bet something they wonder.
I am sorry to hear that you have lost people close to you, as well as those you have come to love here on the forum. Its not easy.
Don't be a stranger.

Congrats!!
Thanks for the inspiration and hope. There's a lot of sad news on the board and it's really great to hear a success story. Many NED for years get on with their lives and don't return to check in, I'm glad you did. Here's to glimmers and hippie chicks!

Stage IV is beatable so there
Stage IV is beatable so there is no reason why you cant be cautiously optimistic. All my doctors NED starts after surgery as long as they can remove all visible cancer.

Fantastic! Although there isn't a cure, which keeps us on our toes, NED is great. You just have to wrap your arms around it while it lasts and really live. sorry to say, mine did come back after 2.5 years, but it's been almost 6 years, and here I am, still killing the little boogers. Wham!
Enjoy NED, and just keep going. Focus on health, mental energy, exercise and nutrition when you can, it's the secret.

Great news!
Be optimistic! But be smart and make sure you keep getting your follow up scans and check ups. It's wonderful to hear some good news for once! Enjoy being NED!

Will do! The plan is scans every 3 months at least for one more year. I have already recurred once shortly after first 12 rounds of tx, did another after surgery 3 ... Just hoping that one did the trick I guess!
I guess I just really just want the miricle.

When I pray for my miriacle, I always think about all those who have passed, who were also praying for their miricle. It makes me realize that I am no more worthy than they were. If my time comes, then I join the ranks of those who could have, should have 'got the miricle'.
But, some people do get the miricle, and why not us.
Here's to us , you me and everyone.

Glimmer is Good
Wonderful you have good news. It's just refreshing that people post the positive on this board, especially with stage 4. Wishing you continued health.
