HBOT here I come! Update number 1
I have my first appointment next Monday. I don't know how long it will take to get set up. Local ENT is hopeful that it will help my ear problems and when he looked in my mouth today he said back tooth is loose and 'fissure' goes right up the tooth to the sinus. Luckily my husband likes to read and recently downloaded some books onto his Kindle. One hour drive each way and who knows how long in the tube. I will keep you informed.
Monday, August 25--I had my appointment at the Wound Center. Very happy with the facility and staff, now wait for insurance to approve treatment. I will continue to update when I get more information.

HBO
I did 50 dives so far and each treatment took right at 2 hours for start to finish, but it all depends on how far they blow you down. I believe I was at 60 feet which is about 2 ATM of pressure. I had a glass chamber and a TV on the outside so the two hours were up in no time. Will keep you in pray that it helps you heal.
God Bless

HBOT is a walk in the park compared to what we have been through. I did 30tx each 2 hours. Watched tv or a movie. You have to wear their 100% cotten scrubs and can only have their water bottle in there with you. They can hear and talk to you. I have to have a couple of teeth out and was worried I would have to do 30x again. Since it has only been 04/2013 when I had it done, I only have to do 5-10tx this time. Fortunately, I have several places I can go within a couple of miles of my house. Sorry you have to drive an hour each way. The HBOT is more of a big inconvenience than anything else. Make sure you get insurance preauth, it's very expensive. I had to pay $20 co-pay each time but $600 didn't look so bad when I saw the huge bill for more than $30,000.

i did 40 dives..... all striped down with gown only and sheets in tube
they last right at 2 hours, twenty min going down, 1 hour down, twenty min comming up
btw the may you don't move that is just the presure in full glass enclosure
they would not let me take anything into tube
i could have your music piped in if you bring with you or you can watch and listen to tv channel of your choice.
enjoy your boat ride over and back

SRMC HBOT
Bev, I just saw your post on another thread about the Sonora Regional Medical Center HBOT. I haven't visited it yet, but it is brand spanking new and up and running. You might call and compare drive times, wait times, and scheduling for SRMC compared to Modesto. Might be worth it to travel the extra distance, if the appointment times are better for you. Message me if you have any questions I can track down the answers for.

I think that we are set for Modesto. I want to get started. This thing in my mouth, necrosis, fissure is not getting to be fun. I think I will need to get to oral surgeon after the HBOTt

Husband's Kindle, I don't like it. I seem to shake a bit and it keeps moving to other sites for me!

Bev,
Get your tube time in before summer ends. Don’t forget to take pictures and enjoy the view.
All kidding aside, good luck pirate Grandma!
You are still one of my first responders,
Matt
I rememberd the font
Wow, what a memory. I wish it was HBO! I didn't remember telling about my Pirate Grandma name for the Lost Eye site! Blame chemo!
