Road Trip

My husband and I went on our first road trip since cancer #2 struck in December/January.  We went 3000 miles to visit friends and family in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas (started in St. Louis).  The new profile picture is from the mountains above Alburquerque.  We took the tram up to over 10,000 feet.  I was worried about breathing up there, but did okay.

We live in a beautifuly country - except for Kansas.  Kansas is not pretty (lol, sorry if I offend anyone one in Kansas.  My husband told me a trucker friend of his says no one in Kansas wakes up ans says 'oh, its a beautiful day'.)

I only drove a couple hours on this trip (ha ha - in Kansas).  Really, my mind hasn't completely recovered from this last surgery in January - my reactions and making quick decisions - isn't as good as it shoud be.

    Bike

No - not on the bike.  We drove.  Dean would have loved to do that on the bike, especially the Rockies.

    Up and going

Glad to see you getting up and moving around, it is very importance to keep as active as you can. Just remember it is step by step the more you do it the better you will become.

So glad for both of you......

Wow, 3000 miles is quite a trip. So happy for you both to make the trip. We all know how this can effect our loved ones and this was so wonderful for you two. Very glad the thin air at 10,000 ft was ok. Because of my emphysema 2500 is about the max for me. I will try to go to the coast and have to cross 4000 ft but is is for s shotr time and I hope it wil be ok. I think it will be less than 20 min. and hoping so much I can do it. The mountains are out unless I can take O2.

Have you been on your bike yet? With that much air I bet you get some smells.

    Lorna,

You sound like all the rest of the H&N drivers out there.

    Keep having fun!

    Bike

I sold my bike earlier this year, and I haven't been out w/ my husband.  In fact, he hasn't ridden that much this year - because he has been taking care of me and gong to many of my doctor appointments.

I'm fearful of why might file in my stoma if I'm on the bike  :)
