Chest/Indigestion/Heartburn Pain/Discomfort
Just wondering if anyone has had any of the above since surgery? I am a year and a half out and I am starting to have discomfort after I eat like an indigestion pain. Also certain foods are making me sweat a little especially hard cheeses!!! Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Bile
Eims. It could have something to do with your Gall Bladder or that you have just have some blocked bile ducts.
Hard cheese is mostly fat. In order to digest that fact you need additional bile to be released into your gut.
Might be worth mentioning to your doc's.

Not matter what I drink I get it now. I can even drink water and I have to burp to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling in my chest.

Eims - Classic symptoms of a heart problem. In my 30s-40s, I started head and face sweating when I ate spicey things like some BBQ sauces, cocktail sauce, Heinz ketchup and was buying rolaids by the 500 count bottle. 5 minutes after my last bite, I would dry up. It progressed to the point of head and face sweating at every meal no matter what I ate and it would quit as soon as I was done eating. No longer had a need for Rolaids. At 53, I fell over dead from a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (an electrical problem within the heart). I am now on a heart assist device and rated class IIII heart failure. BUT.....I no longer sweat when I eat!
So, my advice is see a cardiologist and get checked out. Hopefully nothing but thats what I thought and never went to a doctor.
Best wishes. Alan

But I had my gall bladder and 1/2 the liver removed during the first cancer surgery, so knew that I was not able to store bile and release small amounts as needed. It was eat food and dump bile from the liver.
Lo and behold, I have/had GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). The stomach sphincter doesn't always close off completely. I take Omeprazole 1/2 hour before meal(s) (OTC now) to supress production of stomach acid. Usually just take it before breakfast and that seems to work-but if you have a regular problem, before each meal is better.
Omeprazole works to prevent the production of acid before you eat food. Tums just makes the bubbles break up after the acid is in your stomach. And on the CT 7 months ago, a stomach polyp was noted. Removed and benign.
Hope the Dr. appt. goes well.

Sooooooo the doctor thinks it's stress related and my stomach is very tender. He put me on Zoton to reduce the amount of acid I make. Full bloods again and a camera test!!! Actually starting to feel better already x

Todd, you can try, but since I am on the Isle of Man, good luck. Ron
I'll run my handy conversion program, convert them all to bits, and email them right over.
Gimme 5 minutes.
How's the racing going? I haven't seen an update from you on your trip?
