how do you get those who care for you to see past your pain??
I am with my ex husband who I love with all my heart ... he is not letting me fight this fight alone .. he is in this with me. I started having pain two days ago and it's like he can't be in the room with me alone , or at least not for long periods of time. I know he is concerned and scared , we all are , and I'm afraid he is like my dad was and cannot stand to see me in pain. How do I deal with this and how do I address this issue? I"m sitting on an ice pack today as I feel like I have been through a meat grinder and my pelvic bone hurts along with it. I have my doctor appt next Tuesday but I'm afraid with my new complaints/issues, I might need to go see someone sooner. I am a wreck , I feel like I am broken ... I think of myself as Humpty Dumpty ... only some days it doesnt feel like there is enough glue .

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Did you call the doctor to be seen sooner? You shouldn't have to be in pain until next week just because that's when your next scheduled appointment is. It can be very difficult for caregivers to see their loved ones in pain. My initial response to seeing my husband in pain was stoicism and flying around the house doing chores. I felt like I had to be the tough one. Finally my husband simply said to me that what he really needed from me was more empathy. It was kind of a wake up call for me. Maybe you can share your feelings with your ex husband, let him know that while you are grateful to him for being in this battle with you, it's hard when you sense that he doesn't want to be in the same room with you. I hope you can find some glue, be it emotional or physical. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
