Skiffin Update - No News
Hello family....
I just wanted to let you know, I'm still alive and kicking, just not very high as of yet..
I don't really have much news other than I am feeling better with the IV fluids going in daily (18 hours). But the hole in my stomach is still seaping, though not as much.
I'm still not supposed to be eating or drinking, depending on which MD I talk to...
I still can't do much other than work from home on the computer, and a few hours each day at the office.
No yard work, fishing, or much else..., but I am surviving so that's a plus.
All good things come with time, and it's been awhile now....
Thoughts and Prayers,
John

Hey you...
Was wondering how things were going. Slowly, but surely by the sounds of it. Not sure what the temp has been for you down that way, but sure hope you've been able to enjoy the summer.
Glad you're feeling better though. Soon you will be showing us the fish you caught!
Take it easy and know we are all thinking of you..

Hey John,
It is good to hear that you are stable and improving, although more slowly than you would like. Sending you best wishes for continuing progress. Hang in there.

Have been thinking of you. Last post, you and Shelley were in the boat so I was hoping for same. Take it slow and easy.
God bless,

Just take your time mate. Miss the humour of your posts but there will be plenty of time for that when you are fully recovered. Good to know you are OK. After the last post was expecting a picture of you skydiving.....

G’day to you John
He said nothing about riding in your Boat, so go for it. Just to let you know I am always praying for you to have a full recovery and get back to doing what you love to do. We all have these little set-back it is all part of life. But like me you are one blessed Man to also have an angle (Wife) at your side helping you and keeping you focus on healing.
God Bless and keep you my friend while we are in His Work Shop

Hey Bud
Thought about you alot last week. I was in Ocean City MD. and they hard the Marlin fishing contest down there. They give out millions to people just for catching fish. To many people want to see me swim with the fishes so I stayed away but my daughter went 3 nights to see the catch for that day.
I've been keeping a watchfull eye on ya. Heal on brother.

Wishing the Best for you
John, You must feel like a caged animal, not being able to do what you love is hard on anybody. Let's see, can't eat, can't drink a beer and probably don't have the energy to go out in your boat. That doesn't sound like a lot of fun! Well hopefully if you can keep your cool everything will work out in the long run. Like they say " Life is not a sprint but a marathon."
Hang in there, Homer & Connie

Sounds like the challenges continue
Very sorry to hear that you are hitting a speed bump.............let's just hope things improve shortly. I remember when you and I first exchanged messages about cancer, life's challenges.....................and of course FISHING!!! I'm the guy that lives in a little sleepy fishing village in Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico. I have a 30' Skipjack and go regularly in the Sea of Cortez. So..................Doc says no fishing??................get down here and you can drive for me. Hang in there dude.....................this too shall pass. JK

Haven't been on here in quite some time
Looks like you've had a setback, I'm so sorry. I'm having a hard time seeing how things progressed - I can only see your posts and profiles. Seeing a lot of names on here who gave me so much support in 2011-2013. Please know I'm praying for you and all those who've supported me and all those dealing with this. It just became too painful to check this site after I was on the mend. Call me a fair weather friend. As dysfunctional as it sounds, I think a big part of healing (I've progressed from 3 month scans to 6 months!) is pretending I WAS NOT going through this. That is how I survived. Still, I have all you in my thoughts. Cancer continues to affect people near me (outside of H&N) and alarming they are so young. Not that "older" people deserve it, but it's pretty much confirmed by stats. I didn't mean this to be a post about me, but I continue to pray for all of you on the H&N discusssion board and all those going through C. Go kick butt John. Thank you and others for all the support you've given me. Much love, hope and prayers to all!
