He is ready to go - my sweetheart
Dear Friends,
We are still at the hospital and **** has made it clear that he is ready to go. He has spoken to me, our daughter and his best friend all at one time and made it clear. Also, he spoke to the oncologist, me and our daughter and said he is done and wants to pass on. We have all told him that we will stay with him during this journey and that our goal for him is peace. I do not know if he has a few days or weeks. We are all heartbroken. I have felt it important for our 20 year old daughter to be part of these conversations as she needs to hear it from her father that he is ready for peace. Our pastor, one of his best friends has been here regularly and **** is at peace with his passage to heaven and eternal love.
Please continue to pray for us. Thank you for staying by our side.
Aloha
Kathleen

So Sorry
My heart is bleeding right now. I've always felt a closeness to **** even though we've never met. Maybe because we shared the same doctor and had our chemo tx at the same place. You have been so strong for him all these years and I can still sense your strength even now. I'll continue praying for both you and ****. He seems like such an amazing man and you were very lucky to have shared his life and to now share his journey to heaven. I'm sure he's also aware of the prize he has in you. Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Much love and Aloha.

Dearest Kathleen
From the day we are born, we are moving toward our last day. No matter how many days are in our life, it is never enough for those who love us.
I am glad for the comfort your faith brings you all.
**** has not given up, even now. He has just determined that the next chapter of his spirit is ready to be entered.
My prayers and love wing their way across the miles to you all. May peace and comfort be your companions during this difficult time.

I am not fond of the notion that one "gives up." Marie has a more gentle approach which I feel is comforting. We pass from one chapter to another.
Peace to you and your entire family. Peace to **** as he begins this new journey.
Respectfully,
Art

Sorry
Sorry that it is at this stage, but so glad that he is comfortable to finally be going "home" to eternal peace. May these days, weeks or months be shared with love and special moments. You all are in my prayers and for **** to pass peacefully.

Sending you hugs and prayers
My Dear Kathleen,
Something made me look at the board today and I hated reading your post. I have prayed so often **** would somehow beat this terrible disease.
You and **** and David and I started this journey about the same time, with the same stage 3c diagnosis. I'm in awe of you and what a blessing you are to **** and your family. I've been through this difficult journey, although ****'s fight has been so much longer than David's was. You have both been so brave and courageous.
I know now you will treasure what time remains to be together. Your love will never die and **** will remain in your heart forever. We are both so fortunate and privileged to care for our dear husbands. Continue to cherish each moment. And know that you will be reunited in our eternal home God has prepared for us.
Sending you hugs and prayers.

Kathleen...what love you are showing!!!
I am sad that **** has reached this point, but my heart is warmed by his peace with it.
Part of living, as you know, includes going on at some point. As **** lived in joy, so shall he pass in joy....
If you or your family need anything, please let me know....I am a bit far from you all right now, in my Dutch home, but I have the Internet and all sorts of warm hugs to send.
You are such a warm, caring, loving partner (wife), dear Kathleen. To realize and accept that his decision has been made, and not prolong his suffering to keep him physically beside you, is the strongest act of pure love!!! You will, I am sure, keep him forever alive in your heart and memories, as will all of us who have known him.
BIG hugs and love,
Kathi

My heart aches for you all
I feel that when a person accepts that the end is near, the passing is eased. I certainly hope this is the case for ****.
You are all in my heart at all times. May the Lord take **** in peace, and bestow upon you and your daughters, even more peace.
God bless!
