Rituxan and Childhood Immunizations
My little almost 5-year-old granddaughter is scheduled for some immunizations and I have been asked to go with her. She will be getting Dtap, MMR, IPV, and Varicella (chicken pox). It occurs to me that since I am on Rituxan, that it may not be safe for me to go for this appointment. Or maybe not even be around her for a while?
I have a call in to my Doctor's office, but I'm curious if anyone here knows anything about that?
Thanks much,
Rocquie

Immunizations

You should be fine if you are just on rituxan, it is just a monoclonal antibody that goes in and shuts off a switch on the cells and tells them to stop die off and stop replicating basically. I just had those same immunizations for school and I am currently on Rituxan as well.
