need your help-MD Anderson Cancer Center decline my appointment application
Just now i knew the center refused my application of appointment because my current CT scanning and biopsy do not support I have the NPC. However, my biopsy is not good because my swollen node is small and the doc can not get the correct swollen tissue. In addition, my local doctor has small experience on NPC and i am afraid he missed something and made wrong conclusion. Now I have a headache sometimes and bleeding nose in the morning. Who can give suggestion on how to get the appointment of MD center at this point? thanks for your suggestion.

is there another cancer
is there another cancer center near you? you could try that one? a second biopsy sounds like it is needed. i'd look into other cancer centers and start there. good luck and I'll be praying for you to find a good doc that can give you some definite answers either way. please let us know what you find out. I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions.
God bless you,

I would find it tempting to hear that MDA reviewed my records and scans and did not feel I had NPC and run with it. If I understand correctly, your lymph node was so small that the doctor could not get a biopsy with 5 attempts and suggested waiting a month. Perhaps MDA felt size wise they could not get a biopsy at this time either.
Like DJ suggests, you might get a 2nd opinion from another cancer center for further peace of mind but if one doctor could not get a biopsy, they may not be able to. In which case, you may need to sit tight for that month even though waiting is so difficult.

2ND OPINION
Hey Poly,
I'm sorry that you are having to go through this situation of diagnostic uncertainty. My experience has taught me about the lifesaving value of a second opinion. I suggest that, if at all possible, you find the best ENT in your area in regard to his/her experience in diagnosing and treating head and neck cancer, and get a second opinion. My hope for you, is that you find out that your symptoms are caused by some other non-life threatening, easily treatable/curable ailment.

MDA Houston
If your doctor thinks you have NPC you will need him to contact MDA, but if everything he has done is not showing NPC MDA will not give you an appointment. Patrick made a good suggestion that you find a good ENT and get a second opinion. I would not stress out about it just yet, wait and see what the ENT says.
For now make it a matter of prayer

I was referred to a specific
I was referred to a specific MDACC physician by my ENT...it might also be worthwhile to contact an MDACC satellite location to see if they can help you. I receieved my treatments in Katy, they were amazing.
Bay Area, Katy, Sugarland, the Woodlands...
Best regards,
Chuck.
