Newbie looking to make things better
This is my first post on the network. There are so many of us out there battling with our family and friends. I have been reading lots of threads and feel a little overwhelmed with the whole situation, so here is our story.
My wife and best friend, after making it through a really bad run with 3C Ovarian Cancer was in remission for 2 and a half years. The Cancer has returned. We havent started treatment yet, but will soon. I am not sure what is going on with me emotionally right now. My feelings are distant and I have been even told that, "I really just don't even act like I care." I do care! Your never really ready to deal with these sort of things in your life. You just have to do what needs to be done. I do agree with my wife though, maybe I'm not emotionally supporting her the way she needs. Her therapist told her to make a list of what she wants from me. I am hoping that I can find the strength to help her the way she needs me. Its just so hard trying to run a business and be there for her. She says that she feels that she is second to the business. I don't want her to feel that way because I love her most of all in this world. The only way I can stay keep my head together is work and train, its therapy for me. She says i don't ask her how she is doing or how her day is going and she is right! I just want to come home and veg out and sleep. Maybe I need to talk to a professional. One thing I know for sure. We aren't going down without a fight and I will be with her to help any way I can. All the best to the Caregivers and family member that go through this rough ordeal. I dont want an easy life just the strength to endure a this one. Thanks for reading!

I do care
I'm sorry about your news And wish all the best ahead. Reading your post reminds me some of what I went through a year ago. In my view I think you are still numb and in awe from what lies ahead, it has not sunk in as it's overwhelming to think of all the questions going through your mind. Your love for her is there as you would not be here posting. It will take days to see clearly and I am confident you will find balance between work and home. Right now emotions are hard to express but a little bit at a time she needs more reassurance of you being there for her. Your heart and love for her will guide you. Take care .

Thank you for the words of encouragement. We are waiting to see if she gets picked for a 3rd stage clinical trial and I am optimistic that things will work out. I pray that they do... Only time will tell.
