A bit a bragging and proof we can come back and survive

in Kidney Cancer #1

I am 4.5 months out from an open partial.  This Sunday I did my first sprint triathlon of the year and although a bit slower than last year (water choppy and it was blowing) I got 2nd in my age group. 8-). 

Yes there were more than 2 in my group (first question my husband asked).

Thank you to all of you who gave me advice and such back when I started to train again.  I really appreciate all the help I get from you all.

    Laurie,

    That's fantastic. When you said a few weeks ago that you were back to your old speed I thought you might do pretty good.  It must feel great to kick butt in your first post surgery triathlon.  You're an inspiration. Congrats.

    I hope that Newbies see it ONLY to allow them to know there is hope and WE all can come back from this horrid thing.  Whether it be to do this, or simply to go back to a normal life.  We can and will survive.

     

    Thank you again.  Of all the medals I have from races, this one means the most.
