I am doing much better. No pain since the hiccups stopped. I slept most of yesturday. I am at work today but pretty fatigued. I heard Y90 will give you fatigue plus I am sure the Xeloda is adding to it. My cycle of Xeloday is supposed to finish Friday night but I might stop earlier since I am flying to Seattle on Sunday and maybe I need more than a day to recover. Tuff decision.
My wife just found out that most likely her mother has stage IV cancer. Not sure what type but it sounds like ovarian. It makes me so incredibly sad to see my wife go through with cancer with me for nearly 9 years and now her mother. Her mother is in South Korea which makes things so much more complicated. I wish I could just take on all of my wifes saddness for her so she doesn't have to suffer.
I am happy to hear that your pain has stopped. You had me worried there (I think you had us all worried) for a while.
And I am so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. You dear wife must be very stressed. My parents were in England in their later years, my mother with Alzhiemers. I felt so helpless. It really hurt allot to not be there for them.
I will add your wife and mother to my prayers. You, of course, are always thought of.
I hope you make the right decision about your trip to Seattle (I love the Pacific Northwest). I hope you get to go, and have a wonderful time.
Blessings.

So glad the hiccups have stopped that much air in the tummy would make anyone sick! Glad to hear you've been resting, your body is taking on a lot right now. Hope you hae a good time in Portland. Hugs to you and your wife as she deals with her Mom's illness. My husband went through his mom dying of lung cancer a few years ago, along with one of my recurrances. It just sucks! I wish I could have shouldered more of the stuff with his mom. Traci

All as I can do is be there for her. I had a similar experience. My mother died just 2 weeks after I was diagnosed with cancer, Surprisingly I never shed a tear even though I loved her so much and I tend to be an emotional guy. I think I was just in survivor mode for myself at the time.
The fatigue from the y90 is brutal. I feel like my body is made of jello. When I stand or sit up it is such a struggle I just want to collapse into a ball of jello. I mentioned to my onc about skipping the last few doses of Xeloda to help recovery before my trip. He said maybe just stop 2 days early and that most of that fatigue is in fact from the y90 not the xeloda. The y90 can stay in your system for up to 2 weeks.

Today i decided i am tired of giving in to fatigue so i forced myself to do 1/2 hour of weight lifting and felt better afterwards for a little while..
My onc said he wanted me to do at least 5 days of xeloda out of the usual 7 days when i expressed my concern about fatigue and my upcoming trip. Today was day 5 but thinking about pushing it at least one more day.

Glad that you are feeling better to do the weights but don't push it too hard. We tend to want to get back to normal way too fast and then hurt ourselves in the long run. Take it easy and hope the cutting back of the Xeloda helps.

Thanks Kim. I kept the weights light. Just a lot of reps and some sit ups. I skipped yesturday. I will lift again today and mountainbike and hopefully ride my motorcycle tomorrow before my trip to Seattle. I did my last dose of Xeloda last night and I already feel better today. That proves that Xeloda was adding to the fatigue caused by the y90 radiation. I am supposed to do 7 days of Xeloda, my onc wanted me to do 5 days under the circumstances this time. I decided to meet in the middle and do 6 days. No pain no gain LOL.

Have a safe and wonderful trip to Seattle, J. I hope the weather is good for you, but I know you'll enjoy yourself, no matter the weather.

Funny thing is you always here about all of the rain in Seattle but I looked at the 10 day forcast and there is 0% chance of rain every day. Weather won't effect my plans too much any way. I plan to eat a lot of fresh seafood and try some craft brewed beers. I haven't had a beer in a couple of months. Maybe some outdoor activities depending on time, weather and how I feel. Either way I am going to take advantage of it and live it up.
We often ask what positives come from cancer. This is one big positive since cancer is what is bringing me to a city I have wanted to see for many years and more importantly hopefully some stability with the treatment protocall.

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! If anyone deserves a break, you do. Savor every minute. I hope cancer takes a very back seat.
Prayers for fun!

Glad to hear that you are doing better. I sure hope you have a great trip. I love seafood, but we can't get the good fresh kind around here. Enjoy!
Ironically or i like to call it an act of God (i hope i dont offend anyone) but i suddenly felt great Sunday morning with no fatigue which was the day of my flight. I even rode my motorcycle for an hour before my flight. I travelled all day yesturday and woke up feeling great. Spent all day down town on the waterfront. Ready for Dr. Lin tomorrow.

Bad things do too, but in this case, good things. I'm so glad that you have had two great days. Oh, I would love to be on the waterfront too. Also Pike Place, a favourite.
Enjoy, and good luck tomorrow.

Yea I am going back to PikenPlace tomorrow after I see Dr. Lin. I might do some zip lining too. I got into that about a year ago. Plenty of time to kill tomorrow since I am taking the red eye home. Then as crazy as it sounds I am back to the airport on Friday to pick up an Italian Greyhound puppy we bought. For those of you who dont know they are miniature greyhounds. They only weigh 10 to 15 pounds and can still run up to 25mph. Just another animal to add to our ever growing family of critters.
