Celebrating All Weekend
My town always takes three days to celebrate the holiday. Today the two main activities were a 5K event and the town's annual July 4 parade. Tomorrow night is the fireworks show. We probably will have anywhere from 50-100+ in our backyard to watch -- friends and family. (The people know to bring snacks to share plus lawn chairs or blankets for the ground.) There are rides, food, and games downtown PLUS entertainment. Tomorrow morning our church choir will do a musical presentation of patriotic songs.
My town has a population of about 1100, and we do make these holidays family events.
