What does everyone have planned for the long holiday weekend.

I am having y90 injection tomorrow so it looks like I will be mostly resting and recovering. Hopefully I will be up to eating some barbecue.

    Barbecue?

    Tongue Out

Would that be chopped slow-cooked meat in a tangy sauce on a bun with coleslaw (or not, depending on where you live) or just meat or veggies cooked on a grill?

We go to my sister's lake cabin

which conveniently is right next to a reservation.  We load up with the "good stuff", along with everyone else on the lake.  It's kind of a 24 hour war zone, but a lot of fun!  Just keeping my fingers crossed that there are no injuries (and that we can all still cross our fingers come July 5th).

    Hope you get some BBQ!

    The slow cooked chopped type.

The slow cooked chopped type. I have been living in virginia for 21 years and have become addicted to it. I was born raised and lived in NJ for the first 29  years of my life and until i move down here i thought it was meat and vegetables cooked on a grill.

    I would invite you over...

but I'm English, so I don't do anything for Independence Day.

Husband will be off in the evening (first time in many years), so we may pop over to his mums, or just watch the city fireworks from our house. Its a small town, so one show and about everyone can see it. HA!

Enjoy some time with your wife. Hold her hand, and remember the past July 4ths you've celebrated together.

    quite weekend

Normally we go down to the Colorado St. bridge to watch the Rose Bowl fireworks.  It's one of the best displays in the nation.  The added bonus is watching the CHP trying to keep people from just pulling to the side of the freeway to watch the fireworks, idiots!

This year we'll probably watch on TV as standing for too long is hard for me, less than 3 weeks post surgery.  Hopefully, we'll get together with family this weekend for a BBQ, the hameburger and hotdog variety.  It's also the 5-year anniversary of buying our dream home.

    Have a Happy 4th everyone!

    Watching the Queen Mary fireworks

We are going down to the Shoreline in Long Beach to watch the Queen Mary fireworks with 5 of our 10 grandkids and our children.  Barbeque probably hot dogs... some fruit and lots  of fun watching them paddle board.  I can't wait to finish Folfox to jump in the water!

    working at sis's house

Nearing the end of dealing with all of sister's belongings.  A few last items to deal with.

We are donating what we did not sell to our local Hospice.  They have an excellent program.  They take most any kind of household items.  What they can't sell in their local thrift stores, they send to recycle centers.  They even have the ability to sanitize items.  All that they make from donations goes to the Hospice center to help insure that all who want/need their services gets it.  No one is turned away due to finances.

Next will be inside painting and a few minor repairs.

I hope that all have a wonderful and safe 4th.

    Camping

We are camping.  Spending 6 days here and the weather has been on and off.  Lots of rain before we got here but today actually the sun came out.  Hope everyone has a safe Holiday and remember that Independence Day means more than just a day off.

What kind of bike do you have. I hope to be riding towards the end of next week.

Party all weekend - Surgery next week...

Looks like we will have PERFECT weather for the next few days. Not too hot, not too cold.

Cooking out tonight with family. Steaks on the grill.  Yum.  May go to watch fireworks later - if I feel up to it.  I never know...but I LOVE fireworks.

Parties the next couple of days.  Then fasting on Monday for a Tuesday surgery.  Partial left nephrectomy for kidney cancer (diagnosed and being watched since colorectal cancer diagnosised in December 2012).  Looks like Stage 1 so hopefully surgery will take care of it in full.  Here's hoping!  In the meantime I'm waiting for a kidney stone in my left ureter to pass so I take my happy pills when the pain kicks in.  It's always something...

    Happy 4th to all!

You're on the calendar for Tuesday

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, with tons of parting.  I will be thinking of you on Tuesday and will wait patiently for your post surgery report to tell us that all went well.

Happy 4th to you (I've just heard the sirens for the third time today - not a happy 4th for firefighters).

    I went shooting

    Does that count as fireworks?

My oldest lad took me shooting up the firing range, this morning. It was great to be out with him. He is an Army vet, so he was giving me pointers, which I need.

So, I will count that as Independence Day celebrations.
