Sat -6 yrs since completed treament!!!!!!!!
June 28th is the only date I remember out of all the dates of Mammo, biopsy, surgery etc. I was a bit niveve (SP?) My last day I brought and ediable arrangment for staff at cancer ctr as a huge Thank you. I got my little dipolma and did the happy dance on the way out (IN MY head at least)
'
PRIOR I said my good byes...duh-year later I got a call-time to come see us! I said I am done-I was told no you are never really ever done with us!
I then think of how crappy my job treated me (YES I still work for them-i need the medical and retirement) . MY last day of treatments was on the BIG END OF year event (work for schol) and it was about any hour away. I asked if I could skip it to go to MY LAST treatment-I was told NO manditory meeting-so I had to drive an hour (away) from treatment (ONLY 17 min from my home) and leave the meeting early to go to cancer center.
NO compassion at all , heartless to say the least.

6 years Celebration
Good for you girl I'm 11 years from end of chemo/radiation and happy about it too As for jobs treating you wrong? I'm afraid a lot of them do that. I remember when I was working part time during my treatment....the day I had my first radiation and went on into work....my boss asked me if I would be radioactive. What a dumb jerk. Oh well....that was then and this is now and we are blessed to still be here.... Congrats to you

Maybe if a friend said that kidding around like haha but not boss/ work associate.
at teh start of my cancer I was told DO WHAT YOU need to do, don't worry etc..
after my surgery-then 3 days in to radiation I WAS called into the office and TOLD you can' leave (using LUNCH hour mind you) you must use your Sick days for treatments. I said that will wipe them all out-i must go daily for 6 wks-THEY DIDNT' CARE-I STARTED TO CRY and she said OH dont' cry-I DO NOT LIKE when people at mad/upset with ms. So not that my life was in turmoil she didn't want me mad at her. UNREAL
my cancer ctr changed my schudule to fit an hour they would ALLOW me to use my lunch hour to go. (only 10 mins drive to and from so it worked out)

Well since I joined about all I have been able to do is walk on the treadmill and did do a little bit of zumba....but oh my....not enough energy yet. But I'm gonna keep trying and maybe the energy will come back...or maybe not.... the mystery of all of this is not something we can understand. Why me still here and not my sister? Why one lives and not another? Will it come back ? Will the next Scan show something new? It is too much to deal with and so I just try to take it day by day. This board has had a lot of sad news lately....but we must continue trying to cope as best we can. Tomorrow I'm gonning to try an exercise class ...we will see.
