Tofu
Hi Everyone
I was Barb5454 and I'm having all these computer issues with this site. So I had to change my user name. Anyway, I'm trying to lead a "cleaner" life. I was told that anal cancer was not hormorne related. I am not on a vegan diet. Do you think it would be ok to eat tofu? I'm 55 and post menopausal and I'm 1 1/2 years cancer free

Probably best to eat Organic tofu. Organic is just better for us. We don't need more poisons in our body.
Sincerely,
Sandy
I don't because of the estrogen.

Inform yourself
Inform yourself from reputable sources. Do not take the well-meaning advice from those with uneducated opinions. There is a lot of info on soy consumption on the internet. Read up. I personally wouldn't touch it. And I do not believe that you should eat anything you want in moderation. Anything? Nope. But that's just my educated opinion.
Blessings,
Angela

Hi Angela!
So good to see you (duh . . . where is your picture?)
Well at least to hear you through your words.
How are you doing?
All the best,
Sandy

Causitive factor
You can always ask your oncologist what the pathologist found as the causitive factor in your tumor cells when they were examined in the lab.
Most of us have anal cancer from one form or another of human papilloma virus (HPV). Supposedly 80+% of sexually active people in the US have an HPV infection at some point in their lives. Most infections resolve within a year or two, but a small percentage of infected people will not clear the virus and go on to develop cancer in the future. You'll find a lot of information about anal cancer and about HPV (if that applies to you) at the HPV and Anal Cancer Foundation's website: http://www.analcancerfoundation.org/
I love tofu.

I just found an anal cancer site within the American Cancer Society website. You may find it helpful: http://www.cancer.org/cancer/analcancer/index
