Guilt and isolation
Hello, I am a six year cancer survivor. I was diagnosed at 16 with hodgekin's lymphoma. Whenever I hear of someone dying of cancer, I find myself feeling a lot of guilt. I was wondering if anyone else feels the same way.
Also, I have a very hard time connecting with people. Especially people my own age. I find myself with almost no friends because of this. I just wanted to see if i'm the only one with these issues, or if its a common thing.

I didn't have cancer until age 55 but I can relate to not connecting with others my age as a young person.
Growing up, my dad was disabled when I was 13 and I was an only child. I had a lot of responsibilities thrust on me and a lot of growing up done in a short amount of time. I never related to others my own age. They didn't have my experiences and had no concept of life's "struggles". They basically had to catch up with me growing up.
Just know that you are not alone.
