Hoping all went well with the surgery, and that you are on the road to recovery.

    Doing well

    They ended up taking all spleen out (sometimes they can just take out partial but it's a delicate thing) plus doing two hours of extra work to fix a hernia, scar tissue grown into hernia plus upside intestines.  Don't really understand it, but something about intestines got flipped upside down, hernia came in, scar tissue grew in the mess.  But it is fixed.  Platelets were up to 216,000 yesterday, whoop whoop!!!

    Ready to go home, but have yet to pass gas, so they are still holding me hostage. Other then tha feeling GREAT!!!!

    I remember how excited I was when I passed gas after my bowel resection. I posted it on Facebook, and got a good laugh. 

    You sound upbeat and that is great. Pass that gas, get a little food in you and have a BM (usually what they want to see) and get yourself home. 

    And God bless modern technology, where you can send us messages right from your hospital bed.

    No arguments here, great job.  Hope you get to go home soon.  We just never know what happens to us in the O/R.  So glad they fixed you up.  That's always a bonus.

    Hey girl, Well, you sound great!  :)   They didn't leave anything inside you this time, did they?  ;D   Glad you're feeling pretty good after all of that.  Upside down intestines and a hernia - no wonder you've been in so much pain dear!!

    Tomorrow makes day seven and they said I might get to go home!!!!  I'm excited!!!

    All because my body refused to fart I have been stuck here.  However this morning a little toot finally arrived!!! So off ice chips and water and back to clear liquid diet (not full liquid but I'll take what I get, not that hungry anyways)and I'm so happy that the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived!!!

    Darn it!

    And I bet the gas doen't fail to come quick enough when you're at home. 

    I'm sorry you've been in the hospital so long, especially when you're feeling (relativly) well. 

    Gosh, I remember when I passed gas, I got broth. There was so much salt in it that my blood pressure almost hit the roof. Don't expect decent food at the hospital unless you get lucky. 

    Here's hoping you're out soon.
