what are the worse side effects taking Arimidex
Please give me some information on taking Arimidex. I have looked at the information on the SE of taking it but I need to talk to all ladies that have been taking it and get their information because I feel comfortable since they are taking it or have been on it. I know that SE are different with everyone. I also know that it affects almost all women with their joints and bone pain. Just looking for other side effects that other women have had. Do you stay tired taking arimidex? I am getting ready to take it and I am scared. Thanks for your responses. Hope everything is going well with everyone here with BC.

I was on Femara
My dr said it was the brother of Arimadex. On that I had increased bone pain, rapid weight gain(puffy), but waht made it intolerable was muscle and joint pain.
It got to the point that I couldnt raise my arms over my head so I only wore blousses that buttoned. After 7;weeks I stopped it.
That left me with Arimidex or Aromasin. He chose Aromasin bcuz if I had severe se from Femara, I would most likely have the same on Arimadex. I have been on this one for almost 3 mo and the only se has been dry mouth and soke really dry patches of skin. The big question is... is it working? The Femara brought tumor markers from just under 500 to 89 when wee stopped it. But needed quality of life. I had my first tumor marker bloodwork since starting Aromasin and get results Wed or Thursday.
I would try it. If you have issues, you can always stop it.:))0 -

I don't have the joint pain that most seem to get. I have a weird sensation with my feet that's hard to describe: after thirty minutes or so of being sedentary, when I stand up I can't walk right. I sort of hobble. It goes away, though, in a minute or so of walking. It's odd, but certainly doesn't change my life much. I walk. I go to Zumba and Jazzercize. I work full time.
I take the Arimidex at night and haven't had any problems with fatigue.
I, too, was scared to start, but I figured we're all different I should at least try it. I'm glad I did.
Good luck to you,
Victoria

What I am really thinking about is having to go through this the next 5 years. I hope your labwork comes back good and you can beat this cancer's butt in the near future. Donna

Victoria, sounds as if your SE are not bad. I hope that my luck will be like you and all will be alright. I do know that I will have bone and joint pain because of all the orthopedic surgeries I have had. Thanks for you responce and that you continue to good with Arimidex. Donna

Hi! I have been on Arimidex
Hi! I have been on Arimidex almost a year. I have the joint pain but the more i walk and drink water the better it is. I also have what Victoria described with her feet. It is very very odd but like her when i am sitting or laying and i get up i hobble for a minute and then its all good. My main complaint with the med right now is the weight gain. Despite walking what seems like forever each day, i have gained 20 pds in almost a year. Not happy about it at all. On the great side...arimidex brought my tumor markers from 78 last year to 6 last week!!!! Lung cancer was gone as of last october and the lesion on my spine is not active anymore. I gotta take the bad with the good.
Dont be afraid to start arimidex. My friend on here said to take it at bedtime. It works great!
Best wishes for success to you!!! God bless!!!!

Hello MrsBob, thank you for responding to my post. I am glad that Arimidex is working well with you with little SE. Good to hear that it is helping you with all of your problems and hopefully you will get to meet NED soon. It makes me happy to hear about someone getting to hear good news and I am so happy for you. My arimidex will be arriving in the mail in a couple of days and hopefully I will not hesitate in taking them because of bad SE. Hugs to you, Donna
