How long time did You need to wait for the diagnosis and treatment? I Did You feel nervous?
I went to my gynegologist for a couple of weeks ago and she took ultrasound and told that there was endometrial hyperplacia that maybe could be cancer. The endometrium was 15 millimeter tjock. She sent an urgent referral to a hospital for biopsy and diagnosis. I got a reception time in the beginning of July, so I need to wait a couple of weeks too. A large part of the personnel are having their summer holidays, so I’m afraid that I’ll need to wait for the treatment.

Henna,
do you know what theHenna,
do you know what the procedure is for? I read in another post that it is a scraping? That sounds like a D&C? I am not sure you would be getting a D&C and a hysterectomy all in the same day, but you could ask. The D&C is a scraping of the uterine and then they sample the cells. From this they can tell if they pick up cancerous cells and determine the next course of action
Waiting is tough, I found that getting as much information as possible helps with the unknown

Hi Hybridspirits
Yes, I'm totally confused. I have only got a letter from the hospital, with time and place. I try to learn the terminologi.
As You say, it seems extremely curious that they should do scraping and hysterectomy in the same day. It seems more possible that they'll do scraping and send me home to wait for the results about what they have found, and if there are bad news, so could I get a new time for hysterectomi.
I must call them to the hospital and ask. Even if the situation is new, maybe they can give me some advice.

The hospital will know what you are to have and ask to talk to a nurse if you have more questions about the procedure. More you know, the better you will feel even though you will be nervous which is normal.

Yes, You have right! Tomorrow I'll call some nurse in the gynegology . It is better to get to know something about the schedule. It has to do not only with my health but also my work, my family etc. Naturally there are alternative possibilities, belonging to what they find, but it is good to know something about what is possible.

what happened to me
I had an emergency d&c due to heavy bleeding. I was in the hospital overnight afterwards. I went home the next day and two days later my GYN called me to come in and she told me it was cancer. My hysterectomy was two weeks later. I didn't realize how miserable I was before-- I was attributing my heavy "periods" to menopause, but i was severly anaemic and needed transfusions. ANYWAY-- after my procedures I was devastated I had cancer but I felt a LOT better and wasn't bleeding anymore. I even felt a lot better just after the d&c. I had the robotic da Vinci surgery, so my recovery was easier. Good luck!

Henna,
Prior to myHenna,
Prior to my hysterectomy, I had to wait seven months before having surgery becasue they wanted me to be on Lupron to help reduce or to soften the lesions to make the hysterectomy a little bit easier. Then after my hyterectomy, a week later when going for my check-up I was told they had found cancer. So I had to have another "staging" surgery a month later. So beginning of the year had to wait 7 months, then hysterectomy in September, staging in October and then finally treatment started near the end of November.
Henna, don't get ahead of yourself. Even if they find something suspicious, maybe you only need to have it removed and a wait and see approach. When I had a recurrence (found by a positive biopsy) when they removed it, they couldn't find cancer so I didn't do any type of treatment. Just a wait and see approach. That was 3 years ago.
There are so many avenues that you can take but I just wouldn't worry about those yet. Take a deep breath and get this next test done. Always keep a good positive attitude too.
My best to you.

Hi Mary,
i am new to all of this and I was wondering what your experience was like as I will be getting the robotic da Vinci procedure as well.
How are you doing now? It's the waiting that's driving me crazy.
thanks,

I was diagnosed by an office
I was diagnosed by an office endometrial biopsy on 1/9/09 and had my hysterectomy on 1/28/09, so a few weeks for treatment. I am guessing that your doctors are planning a hysteroscopy and D&C not a hysterectomy. A hysteroscopy is where they take a small scope and look inside your uterus after dilating your cervix, then they scrape(currettage) the lining of your uterus.

Did you need chemo or radiation? How are you feeling today? I to have the robotic da Vinci surgery. It went well, but now they are telling me that they found abnormal cells on lungs and stomach. I am very positive that God will get me through this. I have to start chemo next Friday, get a cat scan today and then who knows what.
